PHILADELPHIA – Is the reported willingness of Arab Gulf states to fund a U.S. military campaign in Syria really about major oil and gas interests that run through the country?

The potential for trillions of dollars of energy revenue in deals that snake through Syrian territory may be a motivating factor for the U.S., Russia, Turkey and Arab states in the current Syria crisis.

I hope not. What makes the decision makers think they’ll have any more success controlling those who will fill the potential power vacuum in Syria than they did in Iran?

It is definitely a part of it.

It doesn’t explain the ethnic cleansing of Christians, though. A Muslim hegemony over the entire region does explain it. They still want their Caliphate.

It’s all about the pipeline through Syria that Russia doesn’t want to see built.everthing else is smoke and mirrors.

Blood for Oil...

Whenever a liberal accuses someone else of unethical behavior, you can bank on the fact that they're doing what they're accusing you of doing.

And they will gladly turn over all their crude to have the caliphate. Tar and gas mean nothing to them.

Access to the European gas market. Gazprom has a virtual monopoly there, the Gulf States want a piece of that. As long as Assad is at the helm, the pipeline net won’t go through Syria. That’s why Kerry’s offhanded remark got pounced on by Putin and why it is such a laughable joke that it’s being trumpeted by the MSM as a diplomatic coup by Barack the Great. Take the bargain, the Americans don’t fly. Any chemical weapons that Assad has he really doesn’t need, he’s pretty much mostly won the war already. They’re a ‘gimme’.

All of that taken together to my eye casts even more suspicion on this gas attack incident. Assad may be evil, but he isn’t stupid. A chemical attack by Assad’s forces would’ve been monumentally stupid. It would only be useful to...the rebels, in order to draw us in and tip the scales with airstrikes.

Or at least, that’s my take.

So many conspiracies could swirl from this when you throw in the president’s opposition to the US/Canada pipeline....oh, the Machiavellian senses could go into ecstasy.

Eucharistic Adoration and helping the slow/hurting fellow next to you will take care of the problem.

Someone took of the Iraqi oil.

Didn’t they?

I’m asking. What’s their production capacity compared to what it was prior to our invasion?

Who is making money from that right now?

This article doesn’t say WE will benefit from this pipeline. Merely that we will be doing the intervention to benefit others. And who, specifically, those others might be.
