Petraeus calls on Congress to back White House on Syria

Retired Army Gen. David H. Petraeus, former CIA director under President Barack Obama, called strongly Saturday for Congress to back the White House on Syria, declaring that military action against the regime is “necessary” to deter “Iran, North Korea and other would-be aggressors.”

“Failure of Congress to approve the president’s request would have serious ramifications not just in the Mideast but around the world,” Petraeus said in a four-sentence statement provided to POLITICO.

On the plus side, if they’re dragging out Petraeus to make a statement, maybe that means they have run out of high-ranking blackmailable officials.

Right now, the “coalition” looks like Zippy, Kerry, and the usual socialist suckups, plus McCain, Graham, Boehner, Petraeus.

I don’t rule out the possibility of threats, either. Maybe PRISM has something on him or maybe they have made credible threats against his loved ones. He’s already admitted to adultery. Do you think he also had time to carry on with boys or goats or something? And still perform his job? I’m inclined to think he’s being threatened.

Or maybe there are a lot of people who are playing both sides. Arms dealers don’t care who wins. So long as they can supply both sides they are happy to have perpetual conflict.

If I had to guess between money and ideology, I’d follow the money.

It’s a foregone conclusion, as far as I’m concerned. World War III will kick off with the destruction of Damascus. I expect a terror attack in the coming week to turn the tide of public opinion.

There’s something under the surface about this.

Some say a cover for amnesty, the debt ceiling going up again.

I’ve noticed more sharp food price rises for things like soup and peanut butter crackers this weekend.

The price of food in the world rising at a 15 percent annual rate the BBC reported in the last year.

There are other bad things to divert people’s attention from
as well.

Under Obama, anyone who was a leader became a loser (Petraeus, McCrystal, Dempsey, Brennan, Clapper, Panetta, Hillary Clinton, DOMA, legal immigration, private healthcare, banking, S&P, the bankrupt cities of America, “stop and frisk”, bathroom privacy from transgendered people, what you eat, how you crap, what you drive, your energy sources (nuclear plants are closing down and none going up), the NSA, our diplomacy - Benghazi, etc.

Another blackmailed political hack. These guys went out and did things they don’t want known and compromised their validity. I have no pity for them.

What really pisses me off is they believe we will fall for the line that “if we don’t hit Syria, Iran will build a nuke”...”But if we do hit Syria, Iran won’t build a nuke and the world will live as one.” Sadly, millions of people will be repeating this crap come Monday.

I wish I could afford to rent billboards all over DC saying

Actually, I totally agree with Gen Petraeus - not supporting the President will undermine and do damage to both the President personally and to the country.

In a normal world dealing with a normal President, the correct and rational thing to do would be to support him.

For Obama this just simply is not the case.

Absolutely.

Even if pounding the bejesus out of Assad is the right thing to do, undertaking such a mission with Obama as Commander in Chief is a recipe for disaster.

"declaring that military action against the regime is “necessary” to deter “Iran, North Korea and other would-be aggressors.”

Since we still don't know exactly who let loose the chem weapons, I find that to be a weak arguement.

Really, Petraeous thinks lobbing some bombs on Syria will "deter" Iran, North Korea, and others? Even I know there are so many factions fighting in this civil war. Most are Islamists. Is this who he/they really want to win? Is he that PC?

Yes, I can see our wishy position giving strength to Iran and North Korea, but interfering in a civil war to allow the Muslim Brotherhood and affiliated al-queda types to take over would be a disaster. Patraeous will go down in history as a supporter of growing Sharia Law.

Our leadership just not get what radical Muslims are about. They claim most are moderate - I believe them to be wrong.

In pre-obama days, he (or someone else) would be warming up at the UN.
Funny how nobody seems to care that obama didn’t spend one single day trying to discuss this with the UN. Cowboy.

(apologies to actual cowboys)

I truly hate to agree with your statement but I do agree. Am believing another false flag is possible and probable. I expect the whole event to be blamed on syria and iran. May your thought, and mine be incorrect.

Courtesy ping and am amazed that there are so many willing to support the al qaeda agenda that have been at top levels of security clearance or whom currently have top level security clearance. I agree there has to be blackmail occurring but one would have thought it would not be this extensive. Prayers to be wrong about a false flag coming.
