Speaker John A. Boehner said on Tuesday that he would support the presidents call to action in Syria after meeting with President Obama, giving the president a crucial ally in the quest for votes in the House.
Representative Eric Cantor of Virginia, the No. 2 House Republican, quickly joined Mr. Boehner to say he also backed Mr. Obama.
Understanding that there are differing opinions on both sides of the aisle, it is up to President Obama to make the case to Congress and to the American people that this is the right course of action, and I hope he is successful in that endeavor, Mr. Cantor said in a statement.
Mr. Obama and Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. summoned Mr. Boehner and other Republican and Democratic leaders to the White House as they intensified their push for Congressional approval of an attack on Syria. Conservative House Republicanshave expressed deep reluctance about the presidents strategy, and winning Mr. Boehners approval could help the president make inroads with a group that has not supported him on most issues in the past.
Representative Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic leader, said, I believe the American people need to hear more about the intelligence.

Representative Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic leader, said, I believe the American people need to hear more about the intelligence.
The hypocrisy of Pelosi pretending to seem fair-minded and cautious about an attack on Syria, is par for the course.
Hopefully the rest of the House feels otherwise.
Rush is exposing them all right now.
Flush that t*rd.
Pick up McDork along the way and keep flushing.
Both dumbasses are reversing their roles.
Clear the decks for 2014.
And heeeerrrrreeee we go. Unreal.
We are freaking doomed.
I’ve heard all the complaints about Libertarian. Quite honestly, many are well-founded. In all seriousness, those complaints amount to nothing when one considers what the GOP has become. No honest conservative can possibly prefer the party if Boehner and McCain to Libertarians. At least the Libertarians don’t say one thing and do another.
So. Will the Tea Party Republicans revolt or not? This is the acid test.
We need to flood this POS’s phones
his phones in DV and all his offices in Ohio.
All we need is to get a zip code in Ohio in his district
and tell his staff we will work against him next election
This is pure chit on Boehner’s part
The Libertarian party is not the answer.
The fix is in. After Cameron’s humiliation by parliament last week Obama n3ver would have punted this to congress unless he was certain they’d give the ball right back to him.
The RINO-Dem Coalition is alive and well
I think Boehner told Obama on Saturday, that he had the votes....That’s why Obama went ahead.
Rush should announce that he will not, at this point, endorse for 2014. It is the only thing that might shake up the GOP at this point.
libertarian perverts are the scum of the Earth
we need conservatives
I sent this to my county GOP chairman:
Bonehead is going along with his excellency on Syria. Well, the GOP can forget about any support from me, ever. That just did it. Also that chump McCain along with him. This is going to go down as the biggest error of the young 21st century. I hope they all enjoy their tenor, retirements and the pomp that goes with their offices, nothing but two bit crooks and whores the whole bunch of them.
No support for getting rid of Obamacare, no support for any of the inquires showing how corrupt this administration is no just rollover on a war vote where there is no threats to the US. No need writing my Congressman either because he just goes along with the tide: no controversy, no questions, no problems.
Now that we have all this agreement, can someone please explain to me why I need to vote GOP in the next election?
What could possibly go wrong? I mean, it’s not as if China, Russia and Iran would oppose the action....
Oh wait....
