U.S. Prepares for Solo Strike On Syria After Britain Balks

WASHINGTON—The Obama administration laid the groundwork for unilateral military action in Syria, a shift officials said reflected the U.K.'s abrupt decision not to participate and concerns that President Bashar al-Assad was using the delayed Western response to disperse his military assets.

The push for a quick international strike to punish Syria for what the U.S. said was a chemical-weapons attack appeared in disarray on Thursday, after British lawmakers defeated a government motion in support of military action.

Historic Vote Sees Cameron Defeated by Lawmakers on Syria
David Cameron’s plan for strikes against Syria was defeated as he became the first British prime minister in at least 150 years to lose a parliamentary vote on military action, once again demonstrating his weakness in the face of his own Conservative Party.

Syria crisis: Downing Street fury over Labour stance
A row has erupted over No 10's claim Labour is giving "succour" to Syria's regime by not backing the prime minister over military action there.

Labour is demanding an apology for what it describes as "infantile" comments.

Tony Blair 'poisoned the well' of public trust, snarled PM
David Cameron leaned against Labour’s hostility as he begged support for ‘my good friend and ally, the American President’. Mr Obama, once adored by Labour, was later described by Dame Gerald Kaufman (Lab, Gorton) as a murderer.

Lord Dannatt discusses the repercussions of the UK voting against military strike on Syria
General Lord Dannatt is the former Head of the British Army.

Parliament's will leaves PM humbled
The shock defeat inflicted on the Prime Minister last night by a combination of Tory rebels and Labour unquestionably marks the low point in his premiership.

It also raises huge questions about the future of the special relationship between Britain and the US.

Vote 'does not change' UK's strong Syria condemnation
US Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel said Britain has strongly and publicly condemned Syria's alleged gas attacks, adding, "That vote in the Parliament doesn't change that."

UK Syria vote leaves US asking 'what's so special?'
The vote of British MPs against military intervention in Syria is likely to send shock waves through the Obama administration. Britain has tended to march in lockstep with the US and this rejection of President Barack Obama's argument will leave bruises.

Why do we still fool ourselves that Britain is a great power?
Much of the media, particularly the BBC, colludes in the fiction that what this country does during these crises is decisive. Britain is mentioned in the same breath as the U.S. Maps are produced signifying British fire-power on which there are almost as many Union Flags as Stars & Stripes.

Meanwhile, we have created the grandiosely named National Security Council, after the American version. The difference is that while the U.S. President commands a huge, world-wide navy and other formidable military assets, we have a dwindling Royal Navy, RAF and Army.

Believe me, I wish we were still a great power. I am sure that when we were, we did more good than harm. But nations should be realistic about their limitations. All this strutting and pretence is undignified.

New world order no longer needs the UK to be a military power since they have the much larger US military at their disposal.

What happened to the old days hen “going it alone” & making unilateral decisions was “wrong”? What a turnaround.

Rush played a Joe Biden speech from yrs. ago.
He was on the Senate floor threatening impeachment if Bush didn’t get multi-national approval for an Iraq strike.

I still don’t think Zer0 has the ba!!$ to do it.
At best some minor symbolic strike to ‘fulfill’ his red line threat.
Maybe a cell tower or something like that.

From the article: “Here, what’s being contemplated is of such a limited and narrow nature that it’s not as if there’s a similar imperative for bringing in different capabilities from different countries” a senior administration official said.

Isn’t it interesting how acts that we would think of as being of a “limited and narrow nature” end up having repercussions far beyond what we would expect? It reminds me of the assassination of a certain Archduke in the early 20th century. You would think that an assassination like that would have limited, local implications. Turns out it didn’t.

Rush has said since 2009 that one unnamed event... one unforeseen happening... impossible to know before hand... would finally turn the worm against obama. Have you noticed that there have been no presidential approval polls released since all of this began. I would bet that obama is down in the mid 30’s over this.

Gallup tracks Obama approval ratings every 3 days.

Rasmussen every day.

You can check the results which agree within 1%.

In deep blue PA Obama’s approval has crashed to an all time low of 34%. I can’t imagine that his national numbers could be much better regardless of what the asshat Rasmussen numbers show.

Britain knows it's a LIE, and they don;t want to kill Christians.

The ILLEGAL ALIEN IN CHIEF allows the Muslim Brotherhood to KILL CHRISTIANS in Syria, and take over another country.

It really is a "more progressive, blood lust".
Little do they know that they are fulfilling what our Heavenly Father said would happen.
Yet they are seeing the Greater Exodus happening before our eyes,
and most either are too involved in their "day-to-day lives", or they just don't want to see, that what God SAID would happen ... IS happening now.
Hussein of America is INTENTIONALLY DESTROYING AMERICA, from the inside out.

The Muslims are guilty of the chemical attack, not the Christians, and the ILLEGAL ALIEN IN CHIEF knows it.
But the ARAB-KENYANand MUSLIM defiling the Oval Office doesn't care.
Barack Hussein Obama II, (a.k.a. Barry Soetoro) just want to turn Syria into another Muslim Brotherhood run country, and kill Christians.
It's just that simple!
