The atrocities in the Congo and Sudan make Syria look like a picnic.
I don’t believe the Syrian AF is anywhere near as well trained as ours. I recall the Israelis kicking the crap out of them in the ‘80’s. Plus our EW, ECM and ECCM are far superior to Syria’s.
The big question is: Will obama let our forces do the job properly?
Assad’s actions in Syria, pale in comparison to what Uncle Ho did in Vietnam....yet all of the Vietnam anti-war freaks, like Kerry are all gung-ho (forgive the pun) to go after Assad.
Canada is going a different direction than us....Mexico has its own problems...

Comparisons might be drawn to the battle between Britain and Argentina over the Falkland Islands. While Argentina’s military was inferior, and they lost the war, Britain did suffer substantial fatalities.

Before WW1, there were 3 Balkan crises before full mobilization in 1914. A world war can start out as a small brushfire. I think what cherry meant was FReepers who voted FOR “not Romney,” the calculation being that it would be better in the long run for Romney to lose than for Romney to win. Germany? They have relied more on US military presence than any other nation in Europe. In fact, all of Europe is in a state of military decay because we have babied them since the Second World War. They don’t need militaries. They have ours.
