Putin will rip Precedent Erkel Mugabe a new one if he’s not careful..... Obama aint tall enough to cross the rubicon IMO.

IMO Russia has already moved into Egypt, Lebanon and Syria, possibly already Libya.

...as well the condition that Obama has purposely left our military in leaves me with a bad feeling about this. as well Assad is an asshole, not a dummy. He would know full and well what using chemical weapons would have brought down on him from the world.

Mooslim Brotherhood killed those people to get just such a response against Assad......again just my opinion.

Hope yer well...stay safe !

The Apocalypse in 3, 2, 1...

Surely this is BS. First he arms them, now he’s going to fire missiles at them. We live in an indane world. Nothing makes sense anymore.

The aim of the plutocrats is to create a virtual world via media that masks their actions and intentions. It will take great effort to get behind the curtain and expose the truth.

If our inane Congress doesn’t act to control and remove this freak then our nation is doomed.

Thanks Congress for showing us your true colors!

Democrats are ALL evil, but Republicrats are beyond contempt.

> Is Obama planning on nuking Damascus?

I certainly hope not. They have a $hitload of Syrian operatives living and operating here on our own soil right now that would retaliate immediately with the help of other already installed into power, Muslim ops, many of who live right in DC...well maybe on second thought, fire away...: )

Enjoying my time home in Idaho before the next contract award. Burning vacation at 32 hours a week. Better than zero income/unemployed.

We're spread too thin militarily to be messing with Syria. It's not our fight. I object to our tax money being used to fund the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda as a means to bring down another sovereign government.

Hope you're doing well. Fun times ahead :-(

I keep track of military news in Russia. Sounds like they’ve been using a lot of that oil money to upgrade and enhance their military for some time now. I don’t think engaging in war with them and their allies would be a very good idea, particularly with China being a potentiall ally.

The sad part is that I had a brief flash of hope that the Russians would liberate us.

I can’t imagine thinking that now. The Russians never liberated anyone.

... they’ve been using a lot of that oil money to upgrade and enhance their military for some time now.

Yep, and a lot of other resources have become available to national defense as well, plus the Russians have taken learning from past mistakes to a new level, as well as learning by observation.

They're not as good as we are yet, but we would lose so much it's nowhere near worth it.

I don’t think engaging in war with them and their allies would be a very good idea,...

Worse than that, it would be contrary to America's interest. The result of successful hostilities with Russia would be the creation of a Muslim Brotherhood Grand Caliphate in the ME and North Africa consisting of Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Oman, and surprise, Turkey. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait would remain "independent" dues paying nations.

Whatta score for beating Russia, and we would no longer be able to field a superpower military, we would have to rely on strategic threat to try to control strong nations.

Objectively, we have more common interests WITH Russia than any interest at all with the Syrian "rebels".

We should draw up around Israel with guns pointed outward, and invite the Russians to go on liberty with us in Tel Aviv.

John McCain must be getting excited over all this; nothing makes him happier than dancing to the war drums.

Yeah, and he does such a good job when he engages.

It would seem incredible that the US is going to strike Syria, and I would dismiss it as a mere rumour, except that there is some evidence for this move.

Today, in Australia, the PM Kevin Rudd has been pulled away from his election campaign. You know how politicians can’t stand being interrupted when campaigning for the vote. But Kevin Rudd has cancelled his weekend appearances in his home state, in order to confer with US diplomats, and it is reported that they want to brief him on the Syria situation. This makes one uneasy.

When the Bushes took action such as this, they did so following a UN resolution mandating the action...

Correct, and the important point is that UN sanction made the use of force legal under international law and NOT an act of war.

An act of war grants immense latitude in response by the aggrieved nation, and isolates the attacker from the support of all other nations.
