The United States has signed an agreement with Mexicos government vowing to prevent workplace discrimination against illegal immigrants while educating them about their civil rights and minimum wage laws.
Its a nifty little contract signed this month by the federal agency that enforces the nations workplace discrimination laws, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). In a press release the EEOC calls it a historic outreach agreement that will solidify the agencys continued and longstanding commitment to this underserved community.
Under the deal, American taxpayers will provide Spanish-language materials explaining the laws enforced by the EEOC and the agency will partner with Mexican consulate offices to provide information and training in areas where migrant farm workers and other Mexican nationals live and work. The memorandum was signed in Florida, an agriculture state known for its illegal workforce, but its sure to apply nationwide.
The pact also creates special Labor Rights Week events throughout the state. This is described by the EEOC as an initiative to educate Mexican nationals and other Latinos about their civil rights, workplace safety, minimum wage laws and human trafficking. The agency makes it clear that this project was specially created for illegal aliens, writing in the announcement that its designed to protect Mexican nationals regardless of immigration status.
Though this may be viewed as outrageous by many, its been going on for years as part of the Obama administrations broader push for amnesty. Back in 2009, the Obama Department of Labor (DOL) announced it would vigorously enforce illegal immigrants federal rights, warning local governments not to discriminate against undocumented workers.
A year later the DOL, under then Secretary Hilda Solis, created a special division to assist and protect illegal immigrant workers in the U.S. More than 1,000 new field investigators were deployed to reach out to Latino laborers in areas with large numbers of illegal alien employees. Their message, in Spanish, was we can help bring workplace protections to the nations most vulnerable and underpaid workers, including those who have no legal right to live in the United States.
Before Solis left the agency at the end of Obamas first term, she also signed partnership agreements with foreign countriesincluding Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republicpromising to preserve the rights of their migrants in the U.S. The DOL also created a wasteful, bilingual smartphone app to help hourly workers stand up for their rights and file complaints against employers.
The EEOC has also taken a number of actions to protect illegal immigrants during Obamas tenure, including a controversial 2009 decision making a workplace English rule illegal. Although federal law allows employers to require English on the job, the EEOC sued a national healthcare firm for discrimination, alleging that Hispanic workers were punished for speaking Spanish. In its lawsuit the government accused the firm of violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act by committing national origin discrimination against the Spanish speakers
Do I even live in America anymore or did I move to France without realizing it?
That she allows the Mexican government - one of the most criminal and corrupt organizations on Earth - to dictate policy to the American government and involves them in our laws?
If the "Leadership" knew this, and stood silently by, why?
IF ANY Executive Branch Department is spending money on non-U.S. Citizens, then CUT their budget Appropriations by a like-amount so that Funding is impossible for these things.
Likewise, de-Funding the DOE, EPA, DEA, etc. will eliminate this Executive Order and Regulatory legislating to circumvent Congress.
Unfortunately, with the 1-Party system we have today (aka; RINO's and Dem's), it's not gonna happen.
Remember when our government used to represent the American citizens who elected it? Now it exploits Americans in favor of the citizens of other nations. Has an Alice in Wonderland feel to it all.
This is beyond political correctness, stupidity, or even sheer insanity. It’s flat out treason.
I hope Rush brings it up today. The talkers on the right need to hammer the hell out of this.
The Republican leadership in the House had to know this when they took over the majority in 2011 and they’ve done nothing to stop it.
If there is no advantage for an employer to hire illegals, does this help to level the playing field?
When all the illegals become citizens, what will happen to this “underclass” pool of workers?
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
” I hope Rush brings it up today. The talkers on the right need to hammer the hell out of this.”
Talk radio has done nothing to help stop amnesty.
This is why: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Union
Both political parties want a united North America even though there is no popular political support from any of the three countries: Canada, Mexico, or the USA.
Gov.Rick Perry (R-Texas) jumped the starting gun and began building a “NAFTA Superhighway” through the heart of Texas. It was not a terribly popular project to most Texans and, I believe, has died a timely death.
The article at Wikipedia’s scolding tone pooh-poohs the idea of any real possibility of a North American Union ever occurring, meanwhile quoting Wikileaks exposing a 2005 Canadian government document discussing just that subject.
I personally have no problem with such a concept if it is popularly supported by the majority of citizens in all three nations. At this moment in time, it is NOT!
Isn't it illegal to hire illegal aliens??
Don't the feds raid workplaces that hire illegals and then fine them or imprison them?
I hear you, FRiend.
As I remember it used to be that way but Obummer seems to have changed all that.
Now up is down and black is white and he’ll just thumb his nose if questioned on it.
I hope it changes soon...my head is becoming mush from banging it on the wall!
This is well past the point of being ridiculous.
“Underserved communities”... !!!
