And this was all unknown to the Republican "leadership" - that the ethnic Mexican Labor Secretary of the United States - who they confirmed - was basically giving foreign criminals more rights than American citizens?

That she allows the Mexican government - one of the most criminal and corrupt organizations on Earth - to dictate policy to the American government and involves them in our laws?

If the "Leadership" knew this, and stood silently by, why?

The Republican leadership in the House had to know this when they took over the majority in 2011 and they’ve done nothing to stop it.

This is why: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Union

Both political parties want a united North America even though there is no popular political support from any of the three countries: Canada, Mexico, or the USA.

Gov.Rick Perry (R-Texas) jumped the starting gun and began building a “NAFTA Superhighway” through the heart of Texas. It was not a terribly popular project to most Texans and, I believe, has died a timely death.

The article at Wikipedia’s scolding tone pooh-poohs the idea of any real possibility of a North American Union ever occurring, meanwhile quoting Wikileaks exposing a 2005 Canadian government document discussing just that subject.

I personally have no problem with such a concept if it is popularly supported by the majority of citizens in all three nations. At this moment in time, it is NOT!
