EXCLUSIVE Cory Booker pocketed “confidential” annual payouts from his former law firm while serving as Newark mayor.

Booker, the front-runner in New Jersey’s Senate race, received five checks from the Trenk DiPasquale law firm from 2007 until 2011. During that time, the firm raked in more than $2 million in fees from local agencies over which Booker has influence.

“This was a settlement buyout for my interest in the firm,” the mayor told The Post at a campaign stop in Jersey City yesterday. “I had an equity stake, and we had a negotiated settlement.”

Booker worked at the West Orange firm for five years, leaving in 2006 when he was elected Newark’s mayor to avoid “the appearance of impropriety.”

How is different from any other Democrat? Being a member of the Democratic Party is a license to steal.

Exactly! What’s the point of being an elected official if you can’t exploit the position for personal gain!

He “deserves” it because one of his ancestors might have been a slave or at least someone was mean to one of his ancestors or at least some girl hurt his widdo feewings so the money is his!

This will boost him in the polls 5 to 6% amongst Democrats.

Since he’s running in New Jersey, that will INCREASE his huge victory margin.

This is the Black mayor, right?

That will sound like racist propaganda to the average Democrat ear.

Ring up another half million “White Guilt” sympathy votes for Mayor Booker!

I have to disagree. The one thing that is bipartisan and equal opportunity in this country is GRAFT.
Graft knows no political party, no race, no religion, no nothing except GREED.

"This was a settlement buyout for my interest in the firm," the mayor told The Post at a campaign stop in Jersey City yesterday. "I had an equity stake, and we had a negotiated settlement."

Booker worked at the West Orange firm for five years, leaving in 2006 when he was elected Newark’s mayor to avoid "the appearance of impropriety."

Before I jump all over the guy I'd be interested in confirming the accuracy of this. It sounds like a perfectly rational explanation to me.

Naturally it wasn’t and needn’t be said,

BUT

Make this a WHITE REPUBLICAN (read McConnell (R-VA) and it becomes a whole different ball game.
Especially when your ATTY GEN is running for GOV against a former Clinton Operative.

Think this Senate race was supposed to be the ‘stepping stone’ for the Booker rise to the White Hut, but I think he stepped on his tallwacker awhile back, in ref to something BO did...naturally he retracted before the paper was dry...
But can’t have these guys wander to far off the Plantation now can we?

Speaking of BO and BS (but I repeat myself)I heard a smidgeon of the ‘Oration’ at DVA Convention and it is basically the same spiel he gave to NJ prior election.

I Promise to cut the red tape when it comes to you.....etc etc etc.... and they cheered and cheered etc...

Of course, no chance History or THE LIE will repeat itself.

Did you read the article? If so, explain the rational part.

Cue the Godfather theme...

Guess Booker had to have something to help him get by when he was surviving on food stamps for a week.

What a tool.
