Paul Ryan: GOP Plan Says Illegals Go 'On Probation' Then 'Get a Green Card'
CNS News ^ | 8/4/2013 | Terrence P Jeffrey

Posted on 08/06/2013 4:08:22 AM PDT by IbJensen

(CNSNews.com) - House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan said on CBS's "Face the Nation" on Sunday that the Republican-controlled House of Representatives would not take up the immigration bill that was approved by the Senate, but would instead take a "step-by-step approach" in which illegal aliens would go "on probation" before they were eventually allowed to "get a green card."

"So what we're going to do is take a step-by-step approach to get immigration right, not a big massive bill, but separate bills so people know what's in these bills," said Ryan.

"We don't have control of our border," said Ryan. "We don't know who is coming and going in this country. We need real border enforcement and that means we really don't trust the administration with discretion in this area. So we need a border enforcement law, first and foremost, that cannot be voided.

"We need interior enforcement and we need to fix our legal immigration system," said Ryan. "Right now, people come to this country based on family relations, not based on skills. Most other countries have a legal immigration system that's good for their economy, we should do the same.

"And when it comes to the undocumented, people who came here illegally, we want to give people a chance to get right with the law while respecting the rule of law, and that means not doing an amnesty," said Ryan. "So, we've got specific ideas that we're looking at on how to get people to come and get right with the law.

"That means go on probation," said Ryan. "You have to do certain terms of probation, and it's a one strike policy if you don't meet the conditions of your probation. Pay fines, pay back taxes, get a background check, learn English, learn civics and then make sure that we independently verify we've actually secured the border, we have our interior enforcement provisions like e-verify and a visa tracking system in place. Then and only then can that person get a legal work permit, no special path way.

"And if a person in this situation wants to get in the line to get a green card, they can get in the line like any other immigrant, only at the back of the line, because we want to be fair to that legal immigrant who did everything right in the first place," said Ryan. "We think that's the right way to go. That's the opposite of amnesty."

So we need a border enforcement law, first and foremost, that cannot be voided.

We have one, legislator that isn't enforced. What we need is a Congress that halts the legislation mill and awakens to the realization that this nation is being stolen while the Congress is stalling and continually churns out mountains of laws and regulations that have nothing to do with clarifying but everything to do with obfuscation, confusion and the creation of tremendous anger and frustration on the part of Americans.

America is saddled with a ruling class apparently determined to keep the influx of cheap labor going indefinitely, with no concern for the negative effects on the American people today or on future generations.

Solid conservatives must either take back the Republican Party, or establish with all speed a third political party that will decimate this ONE party system and put a stop to this insanity.

I thought the green card was probation of a sort.

Yeah...go on probation...learn English..back of the line .... learn civics....brush your teeth...comb your hair...blah blah blah. If this abortion of an immigration plan comes to fruition, who wants to bet how fast a lawsuit is filed on behalf of all 50 million for unequal treatment and violation of civil liberties? Yeah....if they were to go to the back of the line, then they'd fall at the end of quotas for each country, wouldn't they? I'm guessing Mexico, Chile, Nicaragua, et al don't have a combined quota of 50 million like these illegals will amount to.

This all idealist compromising elitist bullsh!t appeasement and self-delusion at the same time. There's a reason why they wanted to come here to and rob, rape and pillage our resources. A free country with laws that can/will be used against us. Under such laws, virtually EVERY ONE of these hokey conditions will be vacated. Count on it.

So, Mr. Ryan (here's hoping they boot your ass out of office next chance), it IS amnesty. Nothing but. And your promises are nothing but the same tripe a little two-year old will promise to keep from having to go to sleep. Shame on you, you snit.

Any bill, ANY BILL that has a scarce mention of immigration will be:

*sent to the House-Senate conference committee
*gutted and replaced with a Senate Trojan for amnesty
*sent back to the House for a vote
*will pass with all the democrats and 18 moderate republicans voting for it.

In other words, ANY BILL will result in AMNESTY and a permanent democrat majority for generations to come.

NO BILL, ZIP, ZILCH, NADA, NOTHING UNTIL CONSERVATIVES CONTROL THE HOUSE, SENATE AND WHITE HOUSE!!!

NO BILL

Any Bill will be stretched to the max by the Senate.

Ryan isn’t stupid—he knows that, He is selling us out.

No, Paul. Illegals leave the country and get in line and immigrate the LEGAL way. Just because they broke into our house, they don’t get a leg up. If anything, they should be permanently denied citizenship FOR breaking our laws.

This is my takeaway point from Ryan, him claiming that giving those who came here and lived here illegally permanent legalization and citizenship is not amnesty because that is putting them to ‘ the back of the line’.
This is the Rubio line too.

As my tagline says, giving them citizenship while allowing them (ilegals) to live and work here is pushing them to the front of the line, so Rubio and Ryan are outright lying.

(just needed to be said again)

ANYTHING that lets the criminals stay here is unacceptable. They are non-uniformed enemy combatants attacking our border and they should be expelled (Or shot, I'm not picky)

What this traitor to our country is proposing is total amnesty.

How about this: Illegal aliens go home because we severely punish hiring any person who is here illegally. Then we set up a fund to start rounding up illegal males from 18 to 60 and send them back first cutting off support for their illegal Democrat families; we provide “Return home money” to their families to get them to leave as well; then we build a barrier on our borders - whatever that might be, fence or trench - and keep the damned doors slammed shut!

A decent immigration plan would;

1) Secure our border, like every other country in the world does with theirs.

2) Streamline our legal immigration system and determine exactly what skills we want to allow in.

3) Dry up jobs, welfare, food stamps and all other benefits for illegals. Criminalize being here illegally with prison time.

4) Amnesty = illegals have 2 months to go home before we start hunting them down.

That plan I could support. However this BS they are trying to shove on us will not do. We tried blanket amnesty before (’86) on the promise of border security and the border never happened. We cannot allow Congress to fool us again.

As long as they are not made to go home and apply, it IS amnesty.

America is experiencing violent crime sprees unlike any time in our history. It’s bad enough to have the indigenous permanent underclass committing these horrific crimes, but with the added illegals joining in the situation becomes much worse.

The illegals need to be rounded up, deported or, if criminal acts have been committed either execute or imprison them.

We need to redefine prison time and also need to expand the death penalty to cover more serious crimes than at present. Additionally, America needs to streamline its system of justice. Speedy trials, a review and then the sentence carried out.

Those who are spared capital punishment should work for 8-10 hours every day and live out their sentences in cells that are bare. It’s a prison and not a Holiday Inn.

I believe that immigration needs to be completely shut down until the border with Mexico is mined or otherwise made impassable. Our central socialist government is so incompetent that it’s rendered incapable of administering a proper immigration policy.

Dry up jobs, welfare, food stamps and all other benefits for illegals.

I think these two are joined at the hip:

The first in line for the no-skill jobs should be teenagers entering the jobs market for the first time.

The second in line would be all the citizen gimme-girls and other able-bodies welfare parasites, in exchange for "benefits".

In a good economy, both of the above classes should be able to climb the ladder quite well once they develop a work ethic, gain job skills, and discover better opportunities.

Most of these who slink over our border like weasels haven’t the sense to wipe their asses. They were, where they came from, and will be here a permanent underclass of leaches.

Clean out the nests of these criminals and send them back over the border, but remember to lock the door after them to prevent their return as well as the entry of newcomers.

Oh, and take your anchors with you.

They could solve the invasion problem today... but we already know there’s a bipartisan cabal that doesn’t want to.
