According to Essence magazine, the GRAMMY Award winning gospel dou Mary Mary will Join Stevie Wonder in his Florida concert boycott following the acquittal of former neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman.
"We will stand with Stevie Wonder & boycott Florida until the Stand Your Ground Law is changed," the pair reportedly told their Twitter followers. The pair explained "We love our fans but we MUST do something. We understand that a No from us isn't as big as a 'No' from Stevie Wonder, but if all our voices join together we can REALLY change things."
Before the announcement, Mary Mary singer Tina Campbell attended a April 2012 rally in Los Angeles and sang to Trayvon's family.
A jury of six women acquitted Zimmerman in July of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges related to the late night slaying of African-American teenager Trayvon Martin. Civil rights advocates say Martin, who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and carried a ice tea and skittles when Zimmerman spotted him, was the victim of racial profiling. Zimmerman's family argues that he defended himself after he and Martin got into a physical fight.
Advocates are now asking the the Department of Justice to take up the case.
Stevie Wonder's boycott reportedly includes recording artists Eddie Levert, Rod Stewart, Madonna, Usher, Pattie Labelle, Kanye West, Trey Songz, Jay Z, Rolling Stones, R. Kelly, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Joe, Will I AM, Keyshia Cole, Young Jeezy, Erykah Badu, Wale, Frankie Beverly, and Parliament.
Nothing to worry about.

Im certain Florida will be DEVASTATED by the lack of mary mary!!/s
Oh boy, more celebs stand their ground for “stupidity, stupidity”.
Echolalia...you just made that up, right?
They obviously aren’t interst3ed in being contrary.
And the Rolling Stones who will bizarrely perform “Brown Sugar” and “Some Girls” to a lyrically oblivious crowd.
I don’t know her either, but I hear she is Quite Contrary.
If fuel wasn’t so expensive, I’d tow my boat to Pensacola, and enjoy the quite.
Gospel singers— shame, I really liked some of their music...when will people who have careers dependent upon other people LIKING THEM(for their talent/craft) learn to keep out of public politics...geeshk...
most people are smart enough to NOT talk politics AT WORK!
I believe they are a Gospel Singer Duo
We are gobsmacked!; flummoxed!; debilitated!; macerated!; and expectorated!
Our depression is exceeded only by our exhilaration.
Oh Noooooooooo! First Steven Wonder and now Mary Mary. I really feel bad for those folks in Florida. They’re going to have to learn to take a good, old fashioned “hood beat down” like a man if they want to pay to see Steven and Mary Mary sing. Or whatever it is they do.
Quite Contrary are their backup singers.
How many Indian casinos do they have in Florida?
Just more opportunity for other has-been bands and singers who ain’t boycotting them.
