“It is not even close to illegal to manage your workforce in a way to reduce costs.”
It is if they make it illegal. Whether that’s constitutional or not remains to be seen. And, a court deciding on that is a 50/50 cr*p shoot. But employers do not want to go to court. So, they will act to prevent even the possibility of a court fight. That’s why they’re firing people now, rather than waiting until the law is in effect.
I’d say it should be illegal to make somebody buy something. Why not force us all to buy a Volt? But, the Supremes disagree with me on that. (See what I mean about a cr*p shoot?)
All I would need to start is to learn to speak Spanish...
They can still do it. Companies decide who to hire and fire and set their hours. Government could never decide these things for every private business.
Better off never citing a reason for a reduction or a firing
Kelly Services was the 2nd largest employer according to the latest ADP stats. They’re a temp staffing company.
I think Wal-Mart is America’s #1 employer, and I think you’re right. I’m real sure its a temp staffing company. Kelly is probably right.
This is why freelancing websites, rent-a-coder sites, task based sites like task-rabbit and similar “pay per the job” sites are exploding. No need to pay benefits or do more than hire and pay.
The supremes called it a tax rather than penalty. Now they need to take the next step and call it an unconstitutional tax.
Good idea, where there is chaos there is always profit.
An appropriate post on nearly every story when it comes to obama.
True, but I crossed my eyes. Long day today.
SUCKAS!!!!
I'm beginning to think that this is an intentional conversion of the economy to a 30-hour work week, ala France. With office and factory automation eliminating workers, and with the bulk of the workforce too ignorant to do anything else, this is how liberals respond, spreading "job equality." In a sense, "stimulating the economy" with interest rates at virtually zero has made it easier to replace labor with capital.
It is definitely intentional. Whether they meant these results is the question. lol.
Wont they hire more people putting in less hours? Why dont they make it a 20 hour work week and then there will be jobs aplenty.
that’s how they’re reporting an increase in number of jobs now.
(in a sane society, they’d be prosecuted for fraud)
When they did it here, the local comments on the newspapers Facebook page blamed the schools and the Republicans for being so cheap as to not provide these people with insurance.
Even though the article referenced the ACA as the culprit several times, Obama and Democrats were blameless, in most eyes.
Brilliant!!! Pelosi was right. She should have read the bill.
You’ve never owned a business in Illinois.
lol.
I guess not.
