Former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner jolted the New York City mayoral race on Tuesday, saying his habit of sending lewd pictures and messages to women he met online had continued well past his June 2011 resignation from Congress.
"I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have," Mr. Weiner said at a news conference. "While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong.
Mr. Weiner said he is no longer engaged in such behavior.
The revelation, prompted by postings Monday on a gossip website, raised questions about Mr. Weiner's ability to maintain the strong position he has held in recent polls of the crowded Democratic primary race. It also led some rivals to call for Mr. Weiner's resignation, though he vowed to stay in the race.

Certainly, the New York City Democratic Party elders in the throes of a political dilemma, with Weiner and Spitzer ahead in their respective races can breath a bit easier now that Weiner continues to draw attention to himself in a manner he would just as soon continue to put it all in the past.
Weiner was considered a fair bet to win. Now? If he had competition....he’d be out, but so far, no competition. I think anyone with a name....could win the race.
On the conservative side, it is often complained that we have no qualified candidates.
On the liberal side, this is a plus. The more warts and black eyes you have, the higher your stock rises.
Go figure.

The primary opponent, Christine Quinn, needs to take him down.
Weiner through his wife does have the Clinton connection and he figures he can beat the heat just like good ole Bill did.
Let’s face it ... this guy is basically a flasher, and if he didn’t have access to an iPhone camera he’d probably be lurking around a library late at night wearing nothing but a raincoat.

He will win on name recognition as long as he does not drop out. It’s sickening.
They actually thing that having no moral character does not impede someone’s ability to be an excellent executive (mayor, governor, president etc...). They do not understand that moral character and leadership go hand-in-hand.
As a confessed pervert and liar, he should be running for president or governor of New York.
