They actually thing that having no moral character does not impede someone’s ability to be an excellent executive (mayor, governor, president etc...). They do not understand that moral character and leadership go hand-in-hand.
This is a reflection of who we are as a society. Utterly without honor or shame, full of self esteem, achieving nothing. Seeing no need for self control or personal responsibility.
Hubris.
