I thought Melissa Harris-Perry’s utterly illogical talking point about Detroit serving as an example of what “Republicans would impose on us” was bad, but this… Do you think that maybe he actually believes what he’s saying, or that he’s just straight-up lying through his teeth because there is literally no good way to spin Detroit’s fiscal collapse as anything other than the inevitable conclusion of a total progressive utopia without peddling outright falsehoods? Because, according to Mr. Schultz — and stay with him here, because there’s a good chance you might not have realized this — Detroit’s ruin was actually the end result of a conservative utopia. Is your mind blown, or what?

This sort of rhetoric appeals to the low information voters who tune in to MSNBC nightly to get their “news”, that’s all.
Democrats have run Detroit for decades, yet Detroit’s problems are due to Republican policies? Is Ed preaching to the MSNBC choir, or does he really expect others to believe this?????
You can bet that the Republicans are glad that Special Ed Schultz is a commie lib and works for PMSNBC. All the rebranding in the world couldn’t help the GOP if Special Ed was one of them. That guy is dumb.
If Hot Air ever quits watching him, he’ll lose 1/3 of his audience.

Well if he’s talking about George Romney calling in Saul Alinsky to help stop the riots he might have a point but republicans have had little input in Detroit since.
Detroit has consistently opposed anything other than a blank check for years. Its why they were so rabidly opposed to the new bridge. Canada is paying for it and the city won’t be getting their usual cut.
It’s so easy to believe things when they are completely detached from reality.It doesn’t require any work. It only has to feel good.
Ed should be careful, when your lies are this obvious the more subtle ones won’t be believed either. I thought he was a better liar than this!

Well, I used to work with a company that had a branch office in Detroit. I dunno where Schultzie is getting his info, but none of the problems I saw there were caused by conservatism.
For all the talk about “The Chicago Way”, I’d rather have done business in our Chi-town branch office any day of the week and twice on Sundays than head over to the Detroit branch. Hell, I’d rather have done business with Al Capone than the powers that be in Detroit. And that’s not even considering the rampant crime, illiteracy, etc. an employer has to deal with setting up shop and hiring there.
Republicans are the new Joooooooos.
This is why America is the land of opportunity for everyone. When a total moron like Ed Schultz can fail not once but numerous times on TV, but still keep getting gigs is living proof of that.
