Living large among the 1 percenters.
By Jonah Goldberg
If Tom Wolfe were writing The Bonfire of the Vanities today, hed need a scene in the Grand Havana Room in New York City. Its an Olympian den fit for what Wolfe called the Masters of the Universe the super-rich gods of finance who today go by the name the 1 percent. Taking up the penthouse floor of 666 Fifth Avenue, the Grand Havana Room is a private, invitation-only cigar club and four-star restaurant. Through its windows, you can see the toiling salary men 39 floors below as they scurry about like ants, some furtively smoking in doorways, ever fearful of Nanny Bloombergs All-Seeing Eye.

The nyc “just us” brother ain’t doin’ too bad considering his TV gig is supposedly the only job he ever had. Before that he was living on the kindness of friends and supporters. And doing it pretty well too. Do ya think the irs looked into uncle al?
“Money for nothing and his checks are free”
Interesting building number (666). Somehow, it fits Sharpton and all those limousine liberals.
(Actually, my father worked in that building during the early 1970’s).
Good article.
Sharpton is little different than KKK leader David Duke except Sharpton has a gig as a TV anchor.
Better is: Al Sharpton, piece of garbage.
This image needs to go with every Sharpton thread. The creep belongs in jail.
"It's good to be the King."
This pathology goes way back. Sharpton was at one time tried for fraud and tax evasion, because all the money from his supposed "church" went for his Cadillacs and fancy suits (and this was when he was a lot heavier!). They called in witnesses, the little old black ladies from his church who were the church's main donors, and they all said they knew their money was going directly to "the Reverend" and that he deserved it.
The black church reflects a weird part of black culture, which is that anybody who is a "leader" of any sort, particularly religious (which is why Obama tries to cast himself in that role), is exempt from criticism or even examination and is entitled to do things forbidden to his followers. I think it's probably a tribal leftover, but it's something that needs to be overcome.
Instead, unfortunately, it looks like all of America is picking it up.
Sharpton looks cadaverous....
It was hilarious last night on O’Reilly to hear fellow putz Jerry Rivers explaining about “Rev. Al’s church in Harlem” and absolutely refusing to answer BORs question about whether Sharpton “was a fair man” in regard to the GZ trial.
Da Bruddahs stick together.
He still looks like a race pimp.
Al Sharpton, homophobe?:
