Posted on 07/17/2013 3:51:46 PM PDT by Kaslin
Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley has sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder reminding him that the Department of Justice has an obligation to inform Congress when Operation Fast and Furious weapons are found at crime scenes. Just last week, the Los Angeles Times reported Mexican Police Chief Luis Astorga and his body guard were killed by cartels using guns from the lethal operation.
"Since the beginning of this investigation, we have followed the link between Fast and Furious weapons and crimes committed on both sides of the border. On numerous occasions we have asked the Department to keep us apprised of Fast and Furious weapon recoveries -- especially as they relate to violent crimes," Grassley wrote.
The letter details not only the killings reported last week, but murders uncovered by Univision in October 2012 and by CBS News in November 2012 linked to the weapons trafficked into Mexico during the operation. On both occasions, one of which included the murder of a Mexican beauty queen who was used as a human shield, Grassley pressed the Justice Department for information.
"Despite our repeated requests, it has been over a year since we last heard from the Department on this issue. The Department his from Congress this recent internal trace record showing a link between the murder of a police chief and Fast and Furious. Such actions do little to promote trust between the Department and Congress, and only provide further evidence that the Department is actively trying to conceal all information pertaining to Fast and Furious from Congress," the letter states.
Grassley has again asked the Justice Department for more information surrounding multiple deaths connected to Fast and Furious. He has given the Department and Holder a July 25, 2013 deadline for compliance.
The DOJ is way too busy to comply - they are persecuting George Zimmerman. Priorities, ya know?/s
Will ANYONE hold the Democrats accountable for their criminality??? Fast and Furious, Benghazi, IRS, NSA, etc., etc., etc. Can Holder be impeached for applying the law unevenly? Or for blatantly committing perjury? Or for any of the other criminality he has committed? If you are Conservative you will be prosecuted. If you are Liberal/Progressive you will be put on leave of absence with pay. This is an APPALLING DISPLAY OF POLITICS. Democrats have no conscience!
The Executive Branch does not (repeat "not") care what anyone else thinks.
Go pound sand.
Signed.... E. Holder
I’m with you. Why on earth is Holder still there? He is toxic and a criminal.
Holder: These deaths are just more “bumps” on the road to Benghazi, er, Mexico City. Nothing special. Move on.
Translated into reality speak, ‘These are more graves on the Holder fiasco road known as Fast and Furious but he thinks these lives aren’t worth anything, just as Hillary thought of the “Benghazi Four”.
If the victims aren’t Black skittle eaters, they don’t count.
Holder, the Racist-in-Chief, a product of whitey-hater/repatrations proponent Prof. Charles Ogletree (Harvard or Yale Law School), who was reportedly a follower of top academic racist Prof. Cone.
Google Cone and Ogletree and you’ll see where Holder and Obama get their racial policies targetting whites.
He was held in contempt and there were no consequences. Why would Grassley think the DoJ would ever comply with anything?
THose Republicans are being really tough now!
Im SURE Holder is really worried....NOT
Send your tips on Fast and Furious to email@example.com
The carnage continues....
Maybe all it needs is some Rs with real guts. Where are they?
Here is a tip for Holder: the Zimmerman trial is over you lost, now move on try Hillary for negligent homicide for allowing the deaths of four Americans on 09/11/12 in Benghazi. While you’re at it resign for fast and furious which was pure stupidity and face what ever charges need be judiciously brought to bear against you by a hopefully more lawfully minded replacement attorney general.
Good idea. I’m sure all us FReepers are on the list already.
“Where are they?”
I wish I knew.
Thank you for the email link.
I sent a transcript of the Bill of Rights.
The aftermath of the Zimmerman verdict is being used to hide Fast & Furious, IRS scandals, the Benghazi cover-up, and much more. The WH is happy to have the Zimmerman smoke-screen.
