On Monday afternoon, the US Department of Justice appealed to civil rights groups and the general public across the country for “tips” on George Zimmerman in their pursuit of potential federal civil rights charges against the just-acquitted defendant in the Trayvon Martin killing. The DOJ actually went so far as to set up an e-mail address to allow such tips: Sanford.florida@usdoj.gov. The email address is slated to go operational by the end of the week.

I smell a Constitutional lawsuit. This administration is attacking an American citizen for defending his own life.
I see Zimmerman, if he utilizes his rights as a free American citizen, becoming a very rich and very popular man someday.
This seems politically dumb as well as 1984ish.
The black voting block is 95% in line. They can’t line them up any better. They don’t need to get them all excited to use their votes.
But, isn’t there some risk that softheaded liberal whites will notice and take this personally? Or Hispanics?
This needs to stop.

Why doesn’t he just issue an executive order making it a crime to be George Zimmerman? It’s a Bill of Attainder, sure, but at this point, what difference does it make?
