TERRIFIC! Liz Cheney to Run Against RINO Mike Enzi for Wyoming Senate Seat
Posted by Jim Hoft on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, 7:55 AM

Mike Enzi led the charge for Internet sales tax.
Goodbye, Mike.

The Politico reported:

Liz Cheney announced Tuesday that she will challenge Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi in a Republican primary next year.

Tea Party Nation added:

The most interesting reaction to the idea that Liz Cheney would primary Mike Enzi comes from the Republican Establishment and that alone means she should do it.

Agreed.

t’s the laziness and the sheer, bloody sense of entitlement that frosts me, and apparently frosts a lot of other people too

That's the way it is with political families. Just the name "Kennedy", "Bush", etc. seemed to be a guaranteed ticket to high office, even when the person in question did nothing at all to earn it. We're seeing the same here.

From the National Review (is that publication conservative enough for ya, Landshark? I'm betting you'll find a way to spin this one too):

So what will this election be about, besides her argument that it’s time for fresh faces and new blood, and his argument that she’s not really connected to the state, having only bought a house in Wyoming last year? Probably gay marriage.
Liz Cheney on gay marriage, back in 2009: “My family has been very clear about this: we think freedom means freedom for everybody. This is an issue states have to decide for themselves…. States have got to make this decision… I certainly would not like to see a constitutional amendment you know, as was suggested in the last administration, banning it."

SOURCE: http://www.nationalreview.com/campaign-spot/353636/cheney-enzi-let-rumble-begin-jim-geraghty

Anyway, good luck to Team Cheney as you guys try to convince GOP voters in the most conservative state in the union to fire a guy is 100% solid on traditional marriage, and replace him with a pro-gay marriage Republican. Nothing like electing a "true conservative" in Wyoming who will vote like a New England RINO. GLAAD has your back!

Okay, I don't appreciate that either, but States rights, some people don't think that's so wrong, oh the horror...........she's far from wanting to stick gay rights in your craw.

So what has Enzi done besides look the other way while this stuff was crammed down our throats? I'm sure he was enjoying himself at the country club with the kick me sign put on his back by Harry Reid & Co. Have you told everyone that your placemarker is solidly backed by that great conservative Alan Simpson? He's just sooo aghast she will divide the party. And how about that conservative Internet tax, great idea, huh? That's his SIGNATURE (and only) bill. It's the only thing he's ever done besides be a loyal pinata for the democrats. No fight, no balls, yet you want him there.........

Yeah, keep telling us that your back bencher, go along to get along guy is a great winner, a wonderful warrior rather than the nondescript, Kennedy enabling dough boy he became and will be until he's fired.

Enzi has had ~ 16 yr to be DeMint's (or Cruz') wing-man or better.

Too bad no Ted Cruz in WY has stood up to improve on the representation.

As far as Liz Cheney and her being for the homosexual agenda, you will find many romneybots defending her, remember how he was for the homosexual agenda as well.

Daily Kos is leaning toward Cheney as a more gay friendly vote since she opposed DADT and rejoiced in it’s end, supports gay marriage, opposed DOMA, and opposes a constitutional amendment that would stop it.

The feeling is that she would be a Romney like asset in imposing the gay agenda on America.

The Bushbots loves Princess Liz, what a shock.

You called it from the jump Bill, the real “problem” with Enzi is that he’s in Cheney’s way. The propaganda machine is at work. Friends with Ted Kennedy friends with the Ted Kennedy!! Enzi is do nothing Enzi is do nothing!! Push the meme push the meme!!! You Cheneybots can shove your memes where the sun doesn’t shine.

Wanna replace Enzi with someone younger, more aggressive, who has the right position on the Internet sales tax he’s championed? Fine by me, but NOT Liz Cheney. No sense replacing him if the replacement isn’t an improvement. Duh.

RE :”Lakeshark CAN’T trust reports that Liz Cheney is pro-gay rights because they’re posted on “Huffington Post, Think Progress, and another liberal site”

I have run into this problem before here where GOP sources like FNC (pro-gay too) dont want to report on RINO betrayals stuff because it will ‘hurt the GOP party’ so only non-GOP loyalist sources report direct quotes about stuff like this , so then the GOP bots claim ‘Rush didnt say it so it cant be true’

Not just gay marriage but Liz Cheney called on congress to repeal DADT too.

If Ted Cruz was the incumbent in WY and held the seat she wanted, the Liz Cheney fans would "discover" that he's also a "RINO" who "reaches across the aisle" and "loves to be bipartisan with Obama". The fact his voting record showed the exact opposite wouldn't matter to them.

My favorite meme from the Cheney fans is the whole 'it's not about her PERSONAL ambitions, she's just doing the conservative movement a favor by nudging Enzi to retire so we get some fresh blood in there"

Well, if her "intent" by threatening a run was to "nudge him to retire", it seems to have backfired HORRIBLY, since the result was Enzi announcing re-election 6 months earlier!

This is exactly what happened here w Dick Cheney.
I got fed up with him between 2006 and 2008 but up to early 2010 the Bush-Cheney bots claimed (to me) that he was not for gay marriage as Mary was because they didn't hear it on FNC or Rush.

Then ~ April 2010 Cheney comes out for gay marriage, and later for ending DADT. Surprise surprise. They were shocked, shocked,

In reality Cheney just outed them by coming out with the obvious.

Now they replay that pathetic scam with Liz :
‘‘Rush didn't say it so it cant be true’

Note that Liz is playing the 'uber conservative' card, just like Dick did and successfully scammed them with.

There is a lot to like about Dick Cheney. He was more conservative than Bush, and unlike Bush, actually fought back against the liberal media and defended the administration's policies. The liberals gave him hell over waterboarding and he's been vindicated (whether they will admit it or not) since those tactics were used to get bin Laden. He's also loudly attacked Obama since leaving office, again in contrast to Bush's silence.

That being said, the freepers still in love with Dick Cheney need to take the blinders off. There's no doubt Cheney had absolutely dismal approval ratings after the hunting incident, and his presence during the 2006 and 2008 campaigns dragged down the GOP brand name and helped the socialist RATs to win. Cheney (AND the rest of his family) have totally sold their soul on gay marriage to accommodate his daughter Mary. No different than what Portman did (I really don't get why anyone should be expected to pretend the gay lifestyle is good because you have a family member that's gay. My dad's a smoker and I don't pretend smoking is good for you and celebrate teenagers taking up a smoking habit. WTF?)

Bottom line though, the Dick Cheney of 2013 is not the Dick Cheney of 1978. And Cheney WAS part of the problem during the Bush years when they were pushing amnesty and spending money like drunken sailors, and killed the GOP brand over Iraq.

>> Note that Liz is playing the 'uber conservative' card, just like Dick did and successfully scammed them with. <<

Yep. The good news is I'm seeing a lot of the freepers wake up over the past two days and have to finally admit that Liz Cheney is not the heroic conservative firebrand they thought she was from her Fox News appearances. The rest of the Cheney diehards will never accept it. They'll continue to waste time and money to try and "take out" a decent conservative so Dick's little girl can have a senate seat. The bottom line, again, is our chances of winning the Senate in 2014 just got harder with conservatives being distracted in Wyoming. I hope she drops out and we can focus on other states.

I couldn't help notice she is pitching that the GOP is ‘cutting deals’’ too easily. Wow, this sounds just what we need.
But exactly what deals is she talking about? Is she saying she would filibuster every-single bill that Reid puts up for a vote? assuming he keeps the Senate?

Or is just vague empty rhetoric to win a primary?

But she said, “Instead of cutting deals with the president's allies in Congress, we can be opposing them every step of the way.”
Cheney would not answer if her “cutting deals” remark referred to Enzi, who has expressed pride in being able to work with Democrats on some issues. He declined to comment about Cheney's run against him.

Enzi unmentioned, Cheney opposes 'cutting deals'( Jul 17, 2013 )

This. The meme from the Liz Cheney crowd is that Enzi is a RINO who "loves being bi-partisan with his Democrat buddies" (again, even though this has nothing to do with reality and his voting record has shown the opposite... Enzi is one of the most staunchly conservative partisans in the Senate and opposes virtually all "bipartisan" legislation" -- for example he was one of only 13 senators to oppose the NDAA 2013 act)

But to push this meme and win a GOP primary, Liz Cheney just throws red meat to conservative crowds and peppers her speeches with vague attacks on the Washington way of "cutting deals" and gets applause when she says we need to "Stand up on principle!" and "Not cave to the Democrats!!" No reference to exactly what "bipartisan deals" she objects to, or examples when the incumbent was too cozy with the Dems.

This primary will be an interesting test for the tea party. Have they finally learned from Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, and Rand Paul to NOT be dazzled by celebrity and "star power" and actually look at a candidate's record?

Yeah, in 2010, McCain moved slightly to the right of Attila the Hun, and Ghengis Khan. Now he has daily sex with Schumer.

I will not vote for ANYONE who had/has ties to the Bush administration.

Note that Liz is playing the ‘uber conservative’ card

That seems to be the new strategy for Republicans: run as Calvin Coolidge, govern as Nelson Rockefeller. It worked for McCain, Graham, George W. Bush, etc. More recently, it worked out well for Marco Rubio, Jan Brewer, Chris Cristie, and will probably work for Liz Cheney too.
