Teachers 'denied schoolboy, 10, water on the hottest day of the year .. during Ramadan' (UK)

An angry mother has accused a primary school of denying her child water on one of the hottest days of the year for fear of upsetting pupils observing Ramadan.

Kora Blagden, 32, claimed a teacher at her son Luke’s school refused to let the 10-year old drink from his water bottle because it was unfair to fasting classmates.

Many pupils at Charles Dickens Primary School, Portsmouth, Hampshire, are fasting during Ramadan, which means they refrain from taking food or water between sunrise and sunset for around 30 days, depending on the moon.

Mother-of-four Kora said: 'Just before bedtime me and my sons Luke, ten, and Alfie, eight, were talking about Ramadan as we had seen it on the news.

'Luke said to me he was told he wasn’t allowed to drink in class by his teacher.

There is no separation of Islam and State, only separation of Christianity and State.

As a matter of fact, Islam IS the State.

Odd, when I was a young Catholic and couldn’t eat meat on Friday, no non-Catholics joined in to make me feel better.

Odd, when I was a young Catholic and couldn’t eat meat on Friday, no non-Catholics joined in to make me feel better.

There's a reason for that: the non-Catholics knew that there was zero chance that your fellow Catholics would try to decapitate them or blow them up with a suicide bomb if they didn't join in to make you feel better.

The non-Muslims in this situation have no such feeling of confidence.

Muzzies stay up late and eat like gluttons during Ramadan so no problems when they don't have to eat or drink during the day.

It's not the same for non-Muzzies.

Ramadan is such a joke. Better to have a single day of fasting every week or during certain times than only a half day followed by a night of gluttony.

Fasting for an entire day actually has a humbling effect. Fasting for half a day is for wimps.

Sheer posturing. May they all suffer acid reflux leading to throat cancer.

“Luke said to me he was told he wasn’t allowed to drink in class by his teacher.”

was he able to go to the bathroom? when i was 10, 35 years ago, i use to use every excuse i can to go to bathroom during class.

we also don’t have any muslims back then. i’d eat my pork lunchbox.

Hey, if people want to participate in these bizarre religious rituals, be it fasting during Ramadan or walking around all day with ashes on their forehead, it is strictly their business.

It is no concern of anyone else's.

We don’t want to hydrate our English children during Ramadan because it may offend the Muslims.

We don’t want to break up Muslim prostitute grooming rings of our English daughters because it may offend the Muslims.

What a truly pathetic bunch the English have become. Political correctness is a mental disorder that can and sometimes does have deadly results.

I missed the part of the story where the teacher was fired. The only way to stop this crap is to take strong decisive action in the face of would be oppressors.

So the teacher forced the boy to observe Ramadan whether he liked it or not.

Will the teacher force the moslim children to sing Jesus loves me?

This current / repeat Islamic invasion into Europe ( remember Charles Martel ? ) is like the Arab Muslim Jihad invasions into Christian Egypt / Africa in the 7th Century or the Muslims invasions of Buddhist areas from Afghanistan to Thailand or the Muslims Jihad invasions of Hindu India / Pakistan ...

Their goal is a world wide Islamic Caliphate once the Sunni Muslims kill all the Shia Muslims, etc.

The public school lunch was fish on Friday in deference to Catholics. Back when I was little. I never heard one person complain and there were many Jews and non-Catholic Christians in my public schools.

I later converted to RC,but in our family we always followed the rule of no meat of Fridays during Lent, and I was a Methodist back then.

That is my understanding of the rules for Ramadan too. I has a girl student who was Muslim and she said it was required once you reached 13 years old.

The “sun never sets” culture and the nation that once stood bravely and virtually alone for a time against Nazi tyranny is now reduced to groveling to the perceived sensitivities of members of a parasitic invasion from an inferior culture.

The Charles Dickens school. What irony, what a disgrace. Dickens campaigned so hard to end cruelty to children during his lifetime.
