Official statistics for 2012 reveal that a record 37 per cent of all abortions performed in England and Wales last year were repeat procedures.
The figures include more than 4,500 women who underwent at least their four abortions, 1,334 on at least their fifth and 33 women who have terminated nine or more pregnancies.
Last night anti-abortion campaigners described the rise in repeat terminations as a tragedy and raised fears that the procedure is being used as a form of contraception.
The Department of Health figures disclose that the total number of abortions dropped slightly, by 2.5 per cent, with a total of 185,122 carried out in 2012.
Of those more than 66,000 were repeat abortions, compared with 54,603 a decade earlier.

Sickening.
disgusting
God’s justice is that 1) they will likely never able to carry a child to term due to scar tissue and 2) very, very high risk for breast cancer.
spaying would be cheaper and save more lives
Now that is hateful. Give them the abortions that they seek. Nothing will change their mind, and Big Govt Inc will punish you, if you do not comply. Also, there is a box-car pulled up at the depot, with your name on it. You are due for your Shower. You will come out, refreshed.
Does Planned Parenthood have a "loyalty card" - murder nine babies, kill the 10th one free? There must be some sort of sick addiction for a woman to pay for the contract killing of so many innocents.
All in all, population-wise, it seems they have a similar rate of abortion to the US but only slightly less.
The article reads:
“The Department of Health figures disclose that the total number of abortions dropped slightly, by 2.5 per cent, with a total of 185,122 carried out in 2012.”
I’ve been told and have read that they don’t have late term abortions though this can possibly be circumvented as to the law. Wikipedia has articles on the abortion situation for most all countries.
That would be at least 297 lives snuffed out, murdered by these 33 women.
Not only mass murderers, but denied more than 297 children of life.
Those 33 woman notwithstanding, their repeat abortion rate is lower than ours. Ours is over 50% (closer to 60%, I believe).
I wonder how the abortion rate compares, otherwise?
I don’t know why the pro-life campaigners are afraid the procedure is being used as a form of contraception. Technically, abortion is not contraception—it’s a form of birth-control. The women having abortions don’t use contraceptives; if they did, they wouldn’t be having so many abortions.
psychopaths
I was on the “anti” side of an abortion discussion in college (as part of my grade), and I remember asking if one abortion was wrong. Of course, no one agreed. I said, how about three? Still, all no’s. How about six, and two were because the fetus was the “wrong” gender? There was some squirming. Eight abortions? LOTS of very uncomfortable “uh... yeah, pretty immoral, but still should be legal “ answers. Eventually, I was at the point of asking if ten or more abortions were wrong, and nearly everyone agreed that yes, that would immoral, though NO ONE on the “pro” side could tell me what made “ten” the magic number or could tell me that a tenth “unwanted” child was somehow more deserving of life than the first.
Is Sandra Fluke on the list?
