Eliot Spitzer choked up today when asked how he’s personally changed since getting caught in a hooker scandal that sunk his governorship five years ago.
“A lot of pain. A lot of pain,” Spitzer said, fighting back tears during a grilling on MSNBC’s Morning Joe program.

ok, so he chokes up and tears up, and all is forgiven, because he’s a good liberal and a good Democrat.
So now he and Weiner are running for office in New York City. We have to forgive and allow redemption for disgraced politicos and all that. Or at least allow redemption if they are good Democrats.
Would any Republicans be permitted such displays of emotion and forgiven for whatever transgression caused them trouble??? Just wondering.

The past tense of the verb "sink" is "sank," not "sunk." People who can't be troubled to exercise dictionaries shouldn't try to masquerade as journalists.
