CANTOR: HOUSE "MIGHT" CONSIDER IMMIGRATION REFORM (NO!)
Breitbart ^ | 6 Jul 2013, 6:20 AM PDT | by MIKE FLYNN

Posted on 07/06/2013 11:20:33 AM PDT by onyx

While most Americans rank the economy and government spending as the top challenges facing the nation, the Senate last month rushed through a comprehensive immigration bill to give amnesty to 11 million illegal aliens. The effort was more about the perceived needs of the Republican Party than the nation as a whole. The swift Senate action was intended to pressure the House to pass amnesty into law. The House seems to have other ideas.

Last Friday, before Congress left for a week-long recess, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's office released to GOP House members a 3-page memo detailing issues that would be on the legislative calendar when Congress returned.

The memo discussed issues related to energy, education and government oversight. Immigration was only mentioned at the end, in a section headlined "a few additional items." This is not how a Chamber gears up for work on a complex legislative issue.

“The House may begin consideration of the border security measures that have been passed by the Homeland Security and Judiciary Committees and begin reviewing other immigration proposals,” Mr. Cantor wrote, noting that Republicans will hold an internal conference on the issue on July 10th.

Speaker Boehner has repeatedly said that the House won't consider the Senate bill. It's been working on several pieces of legislation that cover various aspects of our immigration system. This piecemeal approach provides greater deliberation and consideration than the 1,000+ bill approach embraced by the Senate. The public is still learning the details of the bill passed by 68 Senators last month.

The idea that Senate action would force the House's hand was always silly. The House doesn't simply act on the whims of Senators. Having to face voters every 2 years, the House is more sensitive to grass-roots sentiment than the Senate.

I could see a women of steel I can think of do this, not Comrade Oboingo...

I don't think so. On the one hand women tend to be much less inclined to take such drastic measures and, on the other hand, when they do attack it is on a personal level that is incredibly deep. This is one of the fundamental differences between men and women: a man can get in a knock-down-drag-out fight with another guy... and then offer him a drink, I have never heard of the same with women.

Boy I have been keeping my powder dry on this one...

Well, if I were President…

Cannot a POTUS command troops for 90 days without Congresses Approval and not needing a declaration of war or an authorization of force?

The better question is what would happen if a general did it without specific orders to do so? On the one hand he is sworn to the Constitution, which mandates protection from invasion, and any order contrary would therefore be illegal. But the politicians would not see it that way and would give every reason they could think of to condemn/discredit the action. [see here.]

Aside from passing, for the 30th time (I might be exaggerating), the killing of OCare, though it would never pass the Senate, is there ANYTHING the GOP has done for We the People?

- Any Laws to enhance/restore our Rights, Liberty, Freedom?
- Any push-back from the leftward march of our Republic?
- Balanced any budget...though they have the purse strings?
- Put into jail any person for ANY of a plethora of crimes? FIRED anyone even??

Anything? Any one?

If the GOP in the house votes for this bill the official death of the Republican Party won’t be too long after it.

And the problem with that is?

It always happens the same way.

At first they insist they won’t - but in a couple of weeks, they’ll be lecturing us about how we need it...

My congressman is putting out the word he doesn’t like the Senate version which is his way of saying he could help Boehner get a bill out which would be a disaster once the legislative process is over.

Only chance to stop the Amnesty bill is for the House not to consider any immigration related bill at all.

Michelle Bachman explained it. ANY House bill no matter if it promises all the border security in the world will be a trojan horse.NO bill at all must come out of the House because it will be merged with the Senate Amnesty and trojan horse bill. Call congress.

Tell them to stop all Amnesty or immigration bills.they are all trojan horse bills. some will promise border security that will never be enforced anyway.

Bachmann explained it . The House will write a border security bill only . then in conference the senate will add the virus and then bring it back to the house. then the conservatives won’t vote for it but democrats will all vote for it so then they only need 10% of republicans to pass Amnesty and the virus that will destroy America. so any bill at all will be added the virus . so best thing is for Boner to not let any immigration bill at all come out of the House. that is the only hope . call boner and the members of the House.

Tom Tancredo echos what Michelle Bachmann said.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3036438/posts

call congress . no bill at all from the House

and of course boner must not bring the Senate bill for the House to vote on. no senate bill, no border security bill from the House .nothing.

Yes that’s what will happen.

No other country is allowing this many immigrants. This Amnesty bill will be the death of the USA. The millions of new 3rd world immigrants will vote for socialism/democrats.

Just a few horrors is this horrible Amnesty bill:

1. Amnesty for 30 million illegals
2. those 30 million new citizens will be allowed to bring in their extended family members from the 3rd world = 50 million more NEW 3rd world immigrants.
3. Amnesty forever to any 3rd world liar who claims political asylum (any Muslim). Michelle Bachman said this alone could bring in another 50 million 3rd world immigrants. total count 130 million new democrat voters so they can turn the USA into a socialist state.
4. all these new citizens will have more rights than Americans. a $5000 penalty for employers if they hire An American over an amnestied 3rd world immigrant
5. democrats import All these 130 million new democrat voters from the 3rd world so that democrats can turn the USA into a socialist/communist state where they will give all your property and money to these immigrants
6. a massive increase in work visas for many many occupations in many fields ,even professional ones
7. The democrats know if they can destroy liberty in the USA then the rest of the world will follow. this is the plan to destroy liberty in the world and install communism worldwide
8. Massive amounts of $ to community organizations to register these immigrants as democrats
9 .A 1200 page obamacare like bill doling out billions to democrat organizations
10. big brother crap

There are many more but I don’t have time to post them all

what are these Senators thinking voting for 1200 pages of communist evil?

Why aren’t we out in the street protesting this bill or at least melting the phone lines?

“I can see a woman of steel I can think of do this, not comrade Oboingo”

Shark, I think taildragger is talking about Sarah Palin, not some unknown “woman” in general.

Take the words of context - not just a woman, but “of steel I can think of”.

Already established it’s somebody in particular he is aware of and she is made of steel.

So writing about women in general, in response to his post, misses his point.

(I think...)

Kill ALL BORDER and IMMIGRATION - AMNESTY BILLS... TOO RISKY to consider anything...

The Best Solution is the 2006 Speaker Hastert Solution - Hold Hearings on the issues ALL SUMMER while in session - run out the clock...

Any ‘immigration’ - border security bill passed by the House - no matter how simple will be pushed to be in Conference Committee with the Senate Amnesty Bill - there the House bill will be gutted and the Senate Bill stuffed into the House Bill - it will be voted on - passed and signed by obama...All the while our ‘Friends’ in the House will play innocent and act as if they were not involved in treason ...

Shark, I think taildragger is talking about Sarah Palin, not some unknown “woman” in general.

I know; I just don't think it'll happen; if the GOP thinks people want a woman-president they'll push Olympia Snowe.
I also hope it doesn't happen; Obama's cult of personality was disgusting enough, and to some extent George Bush, and I simply don't want a president who will have a group supporting them even if they act blatantly contrary the constitution (no matter what, so to speak).

Take the words of context - not just a woman, but “of steel I can think of”.

I was taking them in-connext: I do not want Palin as president, not because I don't think she can don't do a good job but because I think that her supporters won't/can't hold her feet to the fire. I do not want anyone who has a cult of personality in the office of the President.

A President actually addressing the problems we face would likely be very unpopular.
I don't know if any amount of of steel would keep them able to stay the course if they went by-the-letter of the constitution, much less the spirit. Ex: if the spirit, then realize that the Army's two-year funding limit was put in place to prevent a standing army, which the Regular Army is, and therefore the Regular Army ought to be disbanded and sent to the states to finish their contracts or serve as officers. Imagine the outcry of the we need a strong defense people: they would see it as a dismantling of the defenses, not as a strengthening of the State's ability to defend. (and the shifting of the responsibility to the more-proper militias.)

So writing about women in general, in response to his post, misses his point.
(I think...)

And on purpose.
