The director of National Intelligence apologized in June to the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee for lying during a hearing, according to a letter published on the DNI website on Tuesday.

Director James Clapper appeared before the committee in March, where Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., asked him specifically if NSA spies on millions of Americans. Clapper answered, "No."

Fire him, fine him and ban him for life from federal employment and benefits. Don’t let them benefit from their lies. Make an example of him.

Of course, it could be simply that Clapper is incompetent.

Remember several years ago, when Diane Sawyer asked him in an interview what he thought about the recent London terror plot that had been foiled, which was all over the news at the time, and he had no clue what she was talking about?

Indeed when your above the law one can pull it off.

Above the law? That arrogant ass thinks he is the law; and for all intents and purposes he's right. He can do what he wants, when he wants, to whoever he wants.

I don’t have as much money as Soros, but I’m working on it . . . .

Did I need to append the sarcasm and irony tags? :-)

This administration seems to lie a lot more often than others in past history.

NAH.....this admin. is just not as good at lying as those of the past...or perhaps this admin. just does not give a damn if it gets caught at it.
Remember, every administration is made up of two things...POLITICIANS and BUREAUCRATS....neither of which is worth a bucket of cold goat phlegm.

I tend to disagree. I think they are so used to lying they don’t know if they’re telling the truth or not anymore. And definitely more deceptive and conniving by far.

How will we know that the NSA has gone full J. Edgar and blackmailed all of the cogressional leadership in both parties and anyone of importance in the judicial and executive branches...? By the complete and total lack of consequences for that clown clapper. Does it need to be anymore obvious than this? Anyone of us lumpen get hauled infront of a congressional committee and just make a mistake in an answer and we’d get felony convictions. This guy just gets to say he’s sorry.

What a weak-kneed people Americans have become

"According to my opinion, and the opinions of many defectors of my caliber, only about 15% of time, money, and manpower is spent on espionage as such. The other 85% is a slow process which we call either ideological subversion, active measures, or psychological warfare. What it basically means is: to change the perception of reality of every American that despite of the abundance of information no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interest of defending themselves, their families, their community, and their country.

It's a great brainwashing process which goes very slow and is divided into four basic stages.

The first stage being "demoralization".

It takes from 15 to 20 years to demoralize a nation. Why that many years? Because this is the minimum number of years required to educate one generation of students in the country of your enemy exposed to the ideology of [their] enemy. In other words, Marxism-Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least 3 generation of American students without being challenged or counterbalanced by the basic values of Americanism; American patriotism."

[And they will say that Snowden is a traitor for exposing this lie.]

No, Comrade Snowden is a traitor because he’s sitting in Russia with several hard drives full of information that belongs to WE the American people.

Indeed Congress must, or Its oversight as an extension of "US the People" is emasculated and greatly diminished!

It is a huge affront for him (the administration) to ask Congress to so emasculate itself!
