G.O.P. Groups Offering Cover for Lawmakers on Immigration (GOP-e desperately trying to save Rubio)
NY Times ^ | 7/1/13 | JEREMY W. PETERS

Fox News viewers in Florida will see a new commercial in the coming weeks urging them to call Senator Marco Rubio. “Thank him for keeping his promise, and fighting to secure the border,” a narrator says in the ad, which is paid for by the conservative American Action Network.

Another group, Americans for a Conservative Direction, led by former Gov. Haley Barbour of Mississippi and other top Republicans, has been running ads in Iowa lately that implore those watching to “stand with Marco Rubio to end de facto amnesty.”

Forget Rubio and the rhino he rode in on . . . let’s find a real conservative to run against Rubio in his next primary.

DC euphemisms are funny. Americans for a Conservative Direction is as misnamed as the Affordable Care Act.

Oh, I think the FOX viewers en masse absolutely should call him - and ask him if he's spent his 30 pieces of silver yet (thanks, Sarah!). They should also assure him that they will be working hard to prevent him from having another term in office since he is now a proven 'sellout' to the Democrats and what is NOT in America's best interests. Please DO call him.

Rubio went full over...rubbing houlders with, and depending on the likes of Chucky Shumer and others of that ilk...in helping craft a monstrosity of an immigrationr eform package. A package, that thank God, will never pass in the GOP dominated House.

The fact that it has no chance there shows how overboard Rubio went.

On top of that, he abjectly lied to and decieved his own constituents and all of us. Saying one thing in english to us "gringos," and saying almost the exact opposite in Spanish to what he deemed were critical Latino groups.

Those actions have doomed him for any further long-term aspirations in the conservative movement.

Too bad...Marco, you consciously chose your support group and then made your bed with them. Now, you are going to have to lay in it.

I have no idea how Rubio will fare in Florida, but I do know that I will never, ever vote for Rubio.

Rubio has put ethnicity, and money ahead of America’s best interest.

Its truly amazing what gobs of money from the Open Border Lobby will do.

It fully illustrates that this party no longer represents us.

The GOPe would rather do battle with members of its own party than the leftwing because they are a faction of the left through their elitism.

Picket in the street in front of Rubio’s house this Fourth of July. Effigy & stocks optional.

I see Haley ‘mushmouth’ Barbour is the head of the organization funded by Zuckerberg that’s been running the pro immigration ads during Limbaugh’s show.

Anyone who listens to AM radio is assaulted non-stop by these pro Amnesty commercials paid for by Soros and Rove backed fake conservative groups.

It makes me want to throw the radio out the window.

Haley Barbour has been a registered lobbyist for the open border invaders for several decades now. And proud of it. Google "Haley Barbour lobbyist immigration"

One of the slickest hucksters in the GOP stables as well as having the stickiest fingers.

IIRC, his SIL was head of one of the ‘Hispanic’ Chamber of Commerce organizations in the state.

No conflict of interest there. Nope.

Obviously, Rubio wasn’t ready for prime time. And as a TEA Party candidate, there is absolutely no excuse for his obtuse behavior unless some NSA dirt is scaring him.
