Lucky Charms Goes Gay
Newsbusters ^

Posted on 07/01/2013 12:25:42 PM PDT by YourAdHere

Lucky Charms won’t just be at the end of the rainbow anymore. It’ll be right up in front, toeing the line for gay activists and their agenda.

According to The Huffington Post, General Mills just announced that Lucky Charms – with little rainbow marshmallows – will be the face for a new gay pride campaign, called #LuckyToBe.

“General Mills has come out in support of the gay community for Pride,” wrote HuffPo’s Christopher Rudolph, “and what better way to show their love than with the Lucky Charms marshmallow rainbow?”

The new gay-agenda campaign “encourages people with Pride to tweet and post online their reasons for why they're prideful using the hashtag #LuckyToBe.”

In fact, General Mills sent a press release to GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), which made it pretty clear that GM is jumping on the gay bandwagon wholeheartedly. “We're celebrating Pride month with whimsical delight, magical charms, and two new rainbow marshmallows,” said the #LuckyToBe campaign. “If you're lucky enough to be different, we're celebrating you.”

HuffPo’s Rudolph celebrated the new campaign by linking to it and encouraging his readers to support the movement: “Don't forget to have a second bowl of Lucky Charms before heading out to your Pride festivities this weekend!” he declared.

General Mills’ pandering to the ever-more-popular gay crowd makes economic sense, given Rudolph’s reaction. After all, they don’t want to suffer the fate of Chick-Fil-A and get splattered with liberal media vitriol for supporting traditional marriage.

Then again, General Mills is joining a long line of big companies who have come out of the closet to play to the gays by supporting same-sex marriage, including Starbucks, Nabisco (Oreo), Macy’s, the Girl Scouts, and Target. After all, they’ve got the mass news media on their side, and that’s a pretty hefty marketing advantage.

So maybe, to continue to “celebrate” this push in favor of all-things-gay. Lucky Charms should add L, G, B, and T shapes to the cereal mix and change it’s catchphrase from “magically delicious” to “openly gay.”

Certainly not on my breakfast table.

Who’s ever going to want to be seen with a box of that in their shopping cart? You’ll get looks from everyone.

Sales are going to plummet.

“If you're lucky enough to be different, we're celebrating you.”

Then I'll expect General Mills to be celebrating pedophiles, polygamists, people who have sex with animals, serial killers, and others who are "lucky enough to be different".

Just to be consistent, you know.

Let's be honest, the dramatic shift on the gay agenda is primarily due to large corporations. People have accepted it because these corporations and there employers pushed it. You can lose your job if you are against gay marriage, even if you never mention it at work (Cisco).

Conservatives in the past have defended corporations against government regulation and taxation. Corporations, in overwhelming numbers, support the left agenda and are active about it.

What does that mean for conservatives?

Um maybe General Mills needs a better PR department. Theirs seems to buy liberal crap, like Chic Fil A suffered from its stance. Per unit sales went up exponentially and are still high...

“If you're lucky enough to be different, we're celebrating you.”

Are the General Mills faggots saying that it is unlucky to be heterosexual???

In the culture war, they have chosen the wrong side.

Hmmmmm..... my kids like 'em.

I'd rather that they not have them anyway, they're all sugar. Makes a boycott an easy decision.

Vinyl is making a comeback. Maybe the time is right for a reissue of the Jacksons' back catalog on cereal boxes.

why all the pandering to a group that makes up maybe 2% of the population?

I'm thinking it's a fad. Really. Anyone who lived through the Disco era has seen it all before.

Any company supporting this cr*p is dead to me.

Their purpose is to sell product, not support fudge packers.

Shove it, GM (actually, Gubmit Motors and General Mills).

Shove up your smelly Obamas.
