Minority Christians in Somalia faced more violence Tuesday, June 25, after news emerged that Islamic militants publicly executed a young man because he was a Christian.
The 28-year-old Hassan Hurshe, who had become a Christian while living in neighboring Kenya, was shot by fighters of the al-Shabab group earlier this month while returning to the Somalian town of Jilib, on the main road from capital Mogadishu, local residents said.
After his June 7 execution, Hurshe's parents, widow and son reportedly fled the area.
The reported execution undecrored al-Shabab's proclaimed intention "to rid Somalia of every Christian."
Though many Somali converts to Christ fled to Kenya, several risked returning home after government troops took territory back from the al-Shabab insurgents last year, aid workers and church groups said.
MORE KILLINGS.
Hurshe was the latest known Christian victim killed by Islamic militants in the troubled African nation.
Earlier, al-Shabab fighters shot 42-year-old Fartun Omar to death

All cultures are equally valid. We should embrace diversity, celebrate their differences, and make friends with them.
Just what Anthony Kennedy and the Gaystapo have planned for American Christians as well.
And the world says “who cares?”
Meanwhile, Robert Spencer and Pam Geller are barred from entering jolly old England for reporting on this kind of savage violence.
Better be sure you are wearing military grade armor when you turn your back on your new “friends”. (Yes, I know you are being sarcastic).
Obama will send them more weapons so they can kill more Christians.
Liberals would be excited if their new friends from Papua New Guinea invited them over for dinner.

Receive your crown, Hurshe. Your death didn’t pass unnoticed where it counts.
They would be stupid enough to go and would voluntarily get into the big heated bath tub.
And the Christian is much better off than he would be were he still enslaved and controlled by Islam. He chose liberty in death over total oppression and Hell.
But I've only got two cheeks and they've both been turned...and I am slowly getting really p!ssed.
I am so angry! Why is the Church so silent on this? Where are the righteous? Where are the voices crying out to heaven? WHY are we allowing this?
The church and her atendees, in America is being run thru the refiner’s fire and being tested.
Just pray for this man, and for all who are persecuted in the name of Jesus.
Islam on the other hand is violent to the core. It needs no single voice to provoke it to murder innocent people. Violence on innocent infidels is in its nature.
Our side needs leadership...and, at the present, no one has decided to fill that void. But make no mistake about it. The fact that said void has not been filled does not eliminate or in any way reduce it...it is growing steadily larger.
There will be war, bloody war...islam insists on it.
Me too, Mesta! The Pope said that over 100,000 Christians were murdered last year.
At one point in the 90’s Christian missionaries were buying Christian slaves from Muslims in Somalia. They brought them as refuges to Maine. Then a bunch of Somali Muslims were given entry to the US and they went to Maine. The US government does not give a crap if Christians are slaughtered.
They would be slaughtering Jewish people if Israel did not exist. I am very upset that the Muslim in the White House had the IRS targeting Jewish and Christian groups.
Part of the Chrislam effort is to improve ties with Muslims in order to get Muslims to stop killing Christians. But the Christians have to be subservient in this “relationship.”
Your graphic is wrong...science and Christianity belong together.
You are correct.
Unfortunately, it isn't my graphic or I would change it. Or more likely, if it was my graphic and I designed it, I would replace the Cross with the Communist flag.
