About a year after Facebook reportedly joined PRISM, Max Kelly, the social network's chief security officer left for a job at the National Security Agency, either a curious career move or one that makes complete sense. The Chief Security Officer at a tech company is primarily concerned with keeping its information inside the company. Now working for an agency that tries to gather as much information as it can, Kelly's new job is sort of a complete reversal.

Not at all a complete reversal !
How better to bypass a security system than to employ someone who is intimately involved and knows how the current system works .
FB and Google were seeded with CIA / NSA money from the early days. There is nothing to bypass, the backdoors are there by design. Sharing staff is not too surprising.
NSA sez...”All your Likes are belong to us!”
Didn’t Gibbs leave the WH to work for FB?
Actually I was thinking the same thing...wasn’t there several 0bama folks that “left” and went to work at Google and Facebook.
From 2011
Since 2009, Facebook’s Washington team has grown from two to eight members, with a roster including former Federal Trade Commission Chairman Timothy Muris, who served under President George W. Bush; Catherine Martin, a deputy assistant for Mr. Bush; and former Obama White House staffer Marne Levine.
INTERESTING.....
can you imagine that?
Thanks kcvl.
I’ve been thinking more on the lines of National Socialism thereagain Lenin used the same strategy.
“When democracy granted democratic methods for us in the times of opposition, this was bound to happen in a democratic system. However, we National Socialists never asserted that we represented a democratic point of view, but we have declared openly that we used democratic methods only in order to gain the power and that, after assuming the power, we would deny to our adversaries without consideration the means which were granted to us in the times of opposition.” - Joseph Goebbels, Reich Minister of Propaganda
The way people expose themselves on Facebook and other social net sites, doesn’t leave much that needs to be decoded.
One of my favorite tv shows is Person of Interest. One of key roles is Harold Finch, played by Michael Emerson. Harold is explaining to his former CIA hit man friend, John Reese about the machine, he invented to monitor everything to protect America against future 9/11’s.
Finch said even with the power of his machine, at first, it was hard to get a lot of info re specifics of the private lives of many. After the social net sites came around, the machine had a hard time keeping up with what people voluntarily posted on the sites.
