Your post nails it. The only Treason in this picture is that by Congresspeople and this administration who are perfectly okay with the NSA illegally spying on the American people.

How was he supposed to reveal this information domestically? Please be specific.

“he went full traitor”

He may be a lot of unsavory things, but he’s not a traitor by any reasoned interpretation of the Constitution.

The NSA now admits that it has and continues to blatantly violate the God-given rights of every American that are enumerated in the Constitution.

The end of this saga comes not with arresting Snowden. The end comes with the NSA being forced to open it’s files on every innocent American so they can see what these sociopathic Stasi-esque cowards have been up to.

The people that do this are evil. They should be prosecuted in the open as the final catharsis. The American people need to know everything they’ve been up to. I suspect if and when we actually find out, we will all still be surprised at the level of betrayal of America the NSA represents.

Snowden is a symptom of this evil, not the cause.

Once made a “hero” by so many at FR and the lockstep Ron Paul-driven libertarian cause, this guy Snowden can do no wrong.

If it dawns on him to begin sacrificing infants to pagan slaughter on a hilltop in Katmandu, he will have a cheerleading squad on what remains of the American right—more concerned that their idle e-chitchat and phone bill will be lumped into a database somewhere than their national defense be achieved.

Why are so many concerned with their “privacy” posting on a chatboard anyway? Has no one stopped to imagine that even one terror plot under surveillance last month has gone silent with the “warning” Snowden provided the perpetrators? Has anyone bothered to think of who will die if that plot is realized? And, really, has any all-so-righteous libertarian and 4th amendment hawk here or elsewhere decided whether he will jump from the 89th floor of the building or just stay put and be immolated?

You don’t want to sacrifice your freedom (to jump or burn up) for security? Excuse me, I’ve forgotten. Which feedom was that? It couldn’t possibly be the one so many gladly throw away themselves just to beat their own chests, could it?

FR hails Snowden’s “brave” flight to Moscow—?? Wow. You all should have been around in the middle of the last century. You would have LOVED the Oxford 5.

The reaction by the RINOs and the DIMs in DC on the NSA and IRS issues unveils that there is absolute NO opposition to keep the excessive federal government under control.

Agree.

There must be some real damaging info on them that they don’t want revealed.

“This is going to end badly for Obama which means badly for the rest of U.S.”

Let’s see:
The NSA is spying on “the enemy”.
We now do know that the NSA is spying on the american people.
That means that “We the people” are among the list of enemies of the Obama government.

It’s a shame that he has to flee. In the middle of the last century we thought that such things the NSA and the IRS do at the moment could never ever happen in the US. We simply had a look over the iron courtain and knew what government should not do to it’s citizens. It was the time when right was right and wrong was wrong. We’ve lost that benchmark of “what gov should never do” set by the soviets after the cold war.

wonder how much the Russians paid to have this piece of human flotsam move to Moscow....I still have problems, understanding, how, one individual had access to such an amount of material.....

Quote:

A sub-lieutenant in the Canadian Navy arrested last week had been turned into a ‘sour milk’ spy by Canadian intelligence officials, reports out of Ottawa now say. Sub-lieutenant Jeffrey Paul Delisle, 40, was arrested in Halifax Jan. 16.
In the context of espionage ‘sour milk spy’ is a phrase that denotes what happens when a spy is discovered and rather than being taken into custody, he is fed information that is false. The intention is that the spy will then pass that information along and the buyers will discover it is false, thereby creating a situation where they cannot trust information they’d been given previously. Such a scenario can spoil all that was learned.
Canadian Spy: Suspect Information
Delisle is an intelligence officer who had access to secret information and is accused of selling some of it to the Russians from July of 2007 until mid-January of 2011. However, Canada’s Post-media news says they learned that when the Navy discovered Delisle’s alleged activities they turned him into a sour-milk spy by feeding him, without his knowledge, false secrets.
“This was done by the book - sour the milk so you confuse the other side,” the former counter intelligence officer Michel Juneau-Katsuya told Post-media news in an interview. Juneau-Katsuya, Post-media said, got his information from members of the armed forces intelligence who are close to the case.
Sub-Lieutenant Delisle: “Breach of trust”
Delisle worked at the communications and intelligence section in Halifax called the Trinity section and the Halifax Chronicle-Herald reported that Department of Defence sources said the Trinity section “is a multinational operation with access to secret data from NATO countries.” Juneau-Katsuya speculated it was information on NATO Russia would have been interested in.
Delisle has been charged with a breach of trust, communication of safeguarded information and attempting to communicate safeguarded information. He was said to have met with those he sold information to in Ottawa and Kingston in Ontario and in Halifax and Bedford in Nova Scotia; Delisle lives in Bedford.
Keeping in mind that in the world of counter-intelligence that what you are told may not be what is real, there is the possibility there was no ‘sour milk’ operation but that, in an attempt to sow the seeds of doubt in the buyer of the information after the fact, Canadian intelligence has suggested to media, through Juneau-Katsuya, that misinformation was covertly given to Delisle.
Delisle is behind bars in Halifax and will have a bail hearing on Jan. 25.

can someone explain this to me.

why fly to Russia and Cuba. Why not just get on a plane to the final destination.

Is there such a thing as a plane with Diplomatic Immunity if it is a charter-if your Diplomat is on it? Get a private plane and there you go.

I would hate to be flying on the same plane as Snowden right now.

btw, there are super duper extraction teams.

Why haven’t we gone in and extracted him or killed him.

You know we do that kind of thing...maybe he has warned them he has a poison pill type of information USB thumbnail drive that will bring down Obama.

Oh really. And running to Russia, that paragon of God-given rights and the US’s steadfast friend /sarc with our secrets is heroic to you?

Are you out of your mind?

Work against 0bama, NOT!!!! the US! This is still our country! Spill your guts to a sporadic enemy of the US, you are a traitor! I don’t care who is in the White House, you DO NOT do that!
