Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) defended the Senate Gang of Eights immigration bill on the Andrea Tantaros Show today. Rubio on Thursday voted with most Republicans to add a security amendment offered by Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). But that amendment went down on a mostly party-line vote. Cornyns amendment would have given border security a higher priority in the bill, and made it easier to deport illegal-alien criminals who drunk drive and are caught in domestic abuse cases, among other crimes.
Sen. Rubio claimed that the Corker-Hoeven amendment, which would beef up border security, is a dramatic improvement over the bill. Tantaros fired: If this amendment is so good, why wasnt it in the original bill?
Rubio answered that he is listening to input to try to improve the bill, and that the amendment in his judgement improves the bill.
Tantaros asked Rubio if the Democrats are using the bill to change the demographics in states like Texas to give them a lock on power. Rubio admitted that some political operatives are hoping to use the bill that his Gang of Eight is offering to do just that.
In fact, the Texas Democratic Party explicitly bases its long-term strategy on current demographic changes underway in the Lone Star State. Those changes would be accelerated if the Rubio-Schumer immigration bill becomes law. Theres no doubt that politics are involved in this, Rubio admitted as he criticized groups on the left that continue to push for less border enforcement and more government benefits for illegal aliens.
Tantaros asked Rubio about the FAIR chart showing a how a litany of crimes committed by illegal aliens would be treated. Rubio agreed that that should be fixed. He said that he would support amendments to close off those waivers, and hopes those amendments are offered in the Senate. Rubios defensive response raised the questions of whether Sen. Rubio knows what is in the bill bearing his name, and why he tells Americans that it is 95% perfect.

“I swear Ive grown to hate his guts.”
You and me both. I can’t stand seeing his face now.
Once Texas becomes Texico, you can kiss this country goodbye.
Politically speaking, Rubio is a dead man walking.
It’s crazy. Rubio had the attention of a good many conservatives. Key conservative media mouthpieces were looking at the man and liking what they saw. Growing chatter about how he might become a viable candidate for the presidency was all over the internet and on the air.
Then, POOF!! It’s all gone.
WHY?
Is he just stupid?
Was he bought off?
Is he dirty and being blackmailed?
Well, my guess is that he’s stupid... and they got him dirty.
What an amazing thing to throw away.....
Of course it will give the Democrats a lock on power. How many illegals are estimated to have been made members of the SEIU? Look at what the SEIU has done already, put cities into bankruptcy. Imagine with that kind of power all across the country.
Unless Barry Soetoro told the gang that there are enough votes in conference committee or something to that effect...
What's a Rubio?
a little dem organizing/get out the vote here in TX and in 2018 you’ll have Gov. Julian Castro ....past 2020 it’s a lost cause anyway
Rubio is a member of the club. Schumer’s protege.
You've given this corrupt POS we call the President cover! You've helped destroy the GOP, and give the Dems forever power!
I will never vote for another RINO again!
MAYBE that is why Rubio is doing this to AMerica.....He KNOWS HE CAN:T BE PRESIDENT!!! DEMOCRATS....NEVER TRUST THEM!! Even when they are POSING as Republicans!
>> Is anyone even listening to Rubio anymore?
His vapid platitudes never resonated with me from the go.
The GOP is dead, and so is America. The GOP has been milquetoast since TR, with a good comeback in the 20s, but now, it is dysfunctional and sterile. This is the end, my only friend, the end.
I think that Rubio is in over his head and starting to crack from the strain.
One of Saul Alinsky’s rules was that if there is someone who is making trouble and getting in the way of what you are trying to accomplish that you should give him a job, make him a part of the project so that whatever the outcome, he cannot complain. The Democrats did this to Rubio. He cannot back down now. It’s way too late. He fell for the Democrat flattery. I think that he was just too young and inexperienced to handle the job.
I heard him explain his interest in amnesty as advice from his mother, to not let down the other immigrants. I knew when I hear him blame his mother that he was done. No adult answers the question, “Why?”, with, “My Mother told me to do it.”
Well, if Rick Perry realized what was at stake, he’d defy Washington, and start building a fence, not just with Mexico, but with New Mexico as well. Let Holder file a lawsuit. Who cares? This is the Battle of Trenton, damn it!
What’s a Rubio?
Enough said.
The Democrat districts in Texas run along the Mexican border. What a coincidence. I’m sure there’s no illegal immigrant ballot stuffing going on.
