I'm amused at all the people that think Snowden fled to Hong Kong because he thinks the Chinese are "better".

In his Twitter interview a couple of days ago, he was very explicit: he went there because he thought it was the only place he could be safe from diplomatic or covert action by the US Government.

You mean the credibility of being a government agency, that things like Fast & Furious, Benghazi, the IRS-targeting, and domestic spying have done a good job eroding?

The credibility that they appeal to saying that they have stopped "more than 50 possible terrorist attacks"? [Sounds similar to punching someone in the face every time they try to speak, "stopping them from possibly saying something seditious".]

Assume if you please but we have very little evidence that this is being done. In fact we have none. I don't think even Snowden has made such a claim.
