Senate Just Proved It Can't Be Trusted On Border Security
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 06/18/2013 | IBD Staff

Immigration Reform: The Senate on Tuesday voted against tough border security measures that it promised to put in place years ago. Tell us again why we should trust them to secure the borders later after granting amnesty first.

In a pair of votes, the Senate turned down a border fence it promised to build seven years ago and a biometric entry-exit system it promised to put in place 17 years ago. The history of these previous efforts to secure the nation's borders is illuminating.

I have a question. Why don’t the libs want a secure border?
I don’t understand why a country wouldn’t want to protect their borders.

I no longer trust either party or ANY branch of gov’t, especially after the Supremes voted against voter ID state laws. They all WANT a dictatorship.

There is no ointention to close the Border.

Just as the war on drugs was a farce so is the closing of the Border.

Does anyone believe that our government could not close down the money being laundered by big banks and white collar criminals and win the war on drugs?
It didn’t happen because there was too much money to be made.

That is the same reason they allow these people to laugh at our Borders. Too much money to be made.

No question---the govt is out of control. However, the Az USSC decision referred to federal ID's. The USSC said Az overreached b/c federal apps can and do require citizenship checkoffs.

Az can still implement its state laws.

=================================================

When you submit a state form, you have to prove citizenship. Thanks to Justice Scalia, that option is perfectly acceptable. Loss for the Left. Victory for election integrity. You might say, “That’s a small victory.” Nonsense. This was the whole ballgame to the groups pushing the Arizona lawsuit. They lost, period.

Next, when voters use a state, as opposed to a federal, form, they can still be required to prove citizenship. The federal form is irrelevant in that circumstance. After the decision today, states have a green light to do double- and triple-checking even if a registrant uses the federal form. The Left wanted the submission of a federal form to mean automatic no-questions-asked registration. This is a big loss for the Left because now states can put suspect forms in limbo while they run checks against non-citizen databases and jury- response forms. Another significant victory in today’s decision. The Left wanted to strip them of that double-checking power. (hat tip to PJ Media report).

RE :” I don’t understand why a country wouldn’t want to protect their borders”

new Democrat voters endless supply.

It allows them to take what appears to be the high ground by saying that they love Democracy and want everyone one to participate (vote) and that those evil conservatives ‘want to stop nonwhites from voting’, which they say all the time.

Why has Rubio signed on to giving illegals the vote?

Ryan was on Levin’s radio program yesterday. Levin asked him about that — that the CBO report indicates some 10 million new illegals would enter in the next decade.

Ryan could not be swayed from his talkingpoints.

Ryan did say that they would have up to 5 years to see if they could set border security. [lol, yeah, right, in 5 years.]

Levin didn’t have much luck. Levin would ask questions; Ryan would ignore them and return to his talkingpoints.

The longer Ryan talked, the faster he talked. Levin tried to slow him down several times. It was obvious that Ryan has turned into a fast-talking snake oil salesman, just like Rubio.

It is not just the Libs. It is the Dems in general, the MSM, the GOPelites and GOPmoderates.

The only 'reason' that comes to mind is a quote from Judge Judy: "Follow the money." I wonder how many of those politicians' off-shore bank accounts are getting boosts by their pushing amnesty?

“Why don’t the libs want a secure border?”

I offer an opinion: It’s all part of the NWO scheme is the way I see it. Marxists allied with Islam (Current Democrat leadership), funded by BIG money-Transnational Corporations, and others, some being Nation States seek a New World Order under a centralized government most likely the U.N. who is for all intensive purpose operating as though that’s a given.

Our taxpayer money is going towards that NWO project. WE ARE paying for our own demise.

It’s why our representation in Congress is somewhat akin to HAL 9000.

They all WANT a dictatorship.

I'm not sure what the Hell is going on, but it really seems that way. It's almost as if these politicians head up to D.C. to "represent" us, and in back room meetings and secret debriefings, they're all told that they are working for a multi-national conglomerate and will do their bidding. I can't help but tin foil everything out of the media now.

They are importing Democrat voters who will continue to elect Democrats until the system implodes.

Their long term goal, or maybe not so long, is to erase the border altogether.

I’ll respond with another question. What do Democrats most target? What does the Left love more than anything?

Money. Customs is all about revenue. Taxes, fines, and fees.

I could post it, but as soon as the Mods find it, they’ll delete it.

Michael Ramirez cartoons can’t be posted here, but, ironically, IBD Editorial Writer posts IBD editorials here.

Ted Cruz was just on the Rush show and told it magnificently like it is. I don’t think the American people would agree with him though; they are looking for “fee things”.
