In 2014, Obamacares blizzard of regulations and mandates will transform the U.S. market for health insurance, among people who buy coverage for themselves. Of increasing concern is the phenomenon of rate shock, whereby many Americans face substantial increases in their health insurance premiums. Much of the debate has focused on young men, the bros who will bear the brunt of Obamacares rate hikes. But in California, women and men will see equally high jumps in the underlying cost of individual-market premium

And the women can always ask Sandra Fluke how to get the free condoms. /s
When Clint Eastwood said “fraud” he was not just talking about Obama.
Julia also learns that LaBron James made $19 million last year. And since he is a man, that presents an obvious case of Gender Pay Discrimination which needs to be addressed via Social Activism and Community Organizing.
Why does that headline cheer me up? I’m going to try a d feel bad.....
Smirk.
They voted for the bastid, It’s only fair their rates go up.
Ha!
I can just picture them all now... with their faces filled with hardware, their dirty hair, dirty clothes, tattoos, screaming and dirty children, etc.
THAT'S the crowd I see all over the place. They act as if they are so proud of their filthy clothes, faces full of piercing, ugly manners, disgusting tattoos and screaming children... children who will NEVER in their lives see 10 cents worth of proper parental supervision and upbringing and who will turn out JUST as bad as mom, and worse! Congratulations America!
"Bros before Hos ???"
Obamacare is carefully designed not to negatively impact low income voters. Since the low income voters also make up a large proportion of the low information voters the majority of his base will continue to support him. He’ll alienate the “white progressives”, but he’s already written them off.
I’ve been following various public discussions, and I’m convinced that the majority of Americans haven’t figured out that Obamacare isn’t free. Somewhere around mid-October, when it begins to dawn on them that they HAVE to buy insurance or pay a fine, we’ll see some slap back. At the moment, it’s just not on the radar.
Will this teach them that voting for Democrats is stupid?
The low income people will have their premiums subsidized.
There will be no “consequences” for them.
The key word in the headline is “Also”. Essentially, the author is complaining that women will “also” be paying more — rather than just men.
From the article: “the Golden State already bars insurers from charging different rates on the basis of gender in the individual market.”
Given that women (on average) consume a lot more health care than men — the state law requires men to pay more than they should for medical insurance, in order to cross-subsidize women. If rates were based solely on actuarial considerations (as is the case for most insurance); then women would pay more than men for medical insurance (and less for auto insurance).
No. Undoubtedly they blame Republicans for this.
Why aren’t these women’s fathers or husbands paying for their insurance?
Probably President Bush. Isn’t he still President?
At least Sandra Fluke will be happy.
Meanwhile back in the Wookie Queen’s court there does not seem to be any money problems.

Maybe the First Wookie will say something nice about Single Mothers and make it all better.
Really not interested in reading about your lifestyle on this thread.
For the purposes of blaming him for stuff, yeah. Who’s “Bill?”
If almost 50% of the population doesn’t pay taxes it stands to reason that Obamacare will be free to that almost 50% through subsidies. Of course the other 50% has to pay for their insurance plus the subsidies. That alone should double the price of insurance for the people who actually have to pay for it.
#1 son. He’s gone up to NJ to stay with Anoreth until ... whenever ... and I’m looking forward to her telling me he’s found a job.
