Suspended and arrested after refusing to change his NRA shirt. Today, 14-year-old Jared Marcum appeared before a judge and was officially charged with obstructing an officer.

A $500 fine and up to a year in jail, that's the penalty that Jared could face, now that a judge has allowed the prosecution to move forward with it's obstructing an officer charge against him.

Personally sue everyone but the janitor. Bring them all to court, force them to hire lawyers and pay and when you win have thier paychecks garnished

Friends of the NRA have the money on hand to help pay for this young patriot’s defense. They’d better help or I won’t give another cent to that organization.

Would he have gotten into the slightest bit of trouble for wearing a Call of Duty or Modern Warfare shirt that depicts a video game where you shoot hundreds of people in one session? No. Because the leftist nerds love to shoot guns in fantasyland but shiver if you put a real gun into their hands.

It is very convenient that the LEO 'said' he could have charged him with "making terroristic threats."

However, there was NO MENTION of such behavior in the officer's written report. NONE.

Why is it that so many LEOs are either outright liars on the one hand, or just incompetents that can't characterize an arrest properly in writing. You see discrepancies like this all the time.

Wannabe cops...with no real law enforcement experience.

There are three things that need to be done. People need to call up the county commission and demand speaking time at the next commission meeting. After one thrilling evening with angry residents....the commission will ask some stupid questions of the police force and start talking about pay freezes. That will get the attention of the chief real quick.

Second, everybody in the county....who believes in the kid....needs to buy one of the NRA t-shirts, and start wearing them....even to church, and shopping. If you just get ten thousand people doing this....it puts public perception immediately upon the police and the court folks.

Finally, just stand up and ask what fourteen year old youth have they handled like this in the past? Make the police force answer to past activity and why this ended up in such a comical situation.

Sounds like if the boy had just let the officer speak - it wouldn’t have come to this...this Logan WV...if you’ve never been there - it’s a different world down there in southern WV - I’m sure there is more to the story - regardless of the boy never getting into trouble...will have to wait and see...

LOL. Seriously, if the ACLU really was about defending rights, they would be all over this. But we know who the ACLU defends and it ain’t white kids with NRA t-shirts.

Awesome! Fellow Students Wear NRA T-Shirts to Support Arrested Student on His First Day Back in Class

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/04/awesome-fellow-students-wear-nra-t-shirts-to-support-arrested-student-on-his-first-day-back-in-class-video/

“Lardieri says that he was informed by Logan City Police on Thursday that his son was facing two charges, obstructing an officer and disrupting the education process. However, Jared’s attorney Ben White says that wasn’t the police department’s call to make.”

-snip

“White said. “Charges aren’t officially filed or brought until the prosecuting attorney’s signs off on them and they don’t do that willy nilly. They do that after a thorough investigation.”

“That investigation is now under way, led by juvenile prosecuting attorney Sabrina Deskins.”

Sounds to me like they are trying to rethink the charges. hee hee hee

In my opinion:

Dolt School Administrators, Keystone Cops and idiot Prosecutor.

Two of my all time favorites when it comes to threads on FR.

Where in blazes is the apparently regional TV station located exactly?

...and since this is all about a T-shirt, what pray tell is found thereon that caused the problem in the first place?

The video, showed about 2 milliseconds of an NRA shirt without saying anything more about this was or wasn’t the shirt in question.

Personality types. I’ve known at least a dozen, who CRAVE the gun and badge, but at least half of THEM would have soiled their undies if ever confronted by a real outlaw. They LOVE to terrorize old folks and kids like this one.....and to hit on lone females.

Worst reporting ever. Nothing about the context of the charge. Was it at school? Where, what, when?

In my experience, it is when the *rules/laws* are *interpreted* by cops and school administration. Even when it comes down to bullying [I don’t intentionally mean to throw that topic in here] but as more of an explanation of these idiots ....when it is a case of personal interpretation of the laws/rules ....those in charge fall down here, big time. then the rallying around starts amongst the cops and school. Case in point:

The next day : **Marcum’s friends also wore T-shirts displaying firearms on Friday to protest his suspension, and at least one of them was asked to remove their clothing.**

They don’t even consistently enforce the stupid rules they make. At the very least, they should be shamed into correcting things or thrown out on their ears.

It is hard to judge the facts from a distance, but it looks like this was a case of a loopie Teacher, idiot Admin calling the Cops for a “rude” student.

Like Nancy Pelosi, they make up the rules as they go along.

Now, I agree that school administrators should run their school system, not the children. BUT, the school board should hire competent administrators instead of bureaucrap idiots. Like the kind who put in place “zero tolerance” nonsense.
