The Senate voted 82-15 on Tuesday to end debate on a motion to proceed to a comprehensive immigration reform bill.
The Senate is expected to continue work on the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act throughout June. The next vote will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday that will be on the actual motion to proceed to the bill.
The four Republican members of the Gang of Eight Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), John McCain (R-Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Jeff Flake (R- Ariz.) were joined by more than 20 other GOP senators in voting to advance the debate. That strong support is expected to dwindle if certain amendments aren't agreed to.
"As an elected leader in my party, its my view that we at least need to try to improve a situation that as far as I can tell very few people believe is working well either for our own citizens, or for those around the world who aspire to become Americans," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said ahead of the vote Tuesday. "Ill vote to debate it and for the opportunity to amend it, but in the days ahead there will need to be major changes to this bill if its going to become law."

O was ashamed because I know in Real Life, if someone tried that, it would work out that EXACT same way. :\
Thank you. That was worth every second. Although I knew a lot of it, seeing it this way was most educational.
And it is absolutely stunning to hear the voices and see the pictures saying and showing VERBATIM the things we hear and see from libs and psuedocons daily.
I am afraid you are correct....doesn’t make me at all happy
Paul is supposed to be the rebel who refuses to tow the GOP-e line. So why is he jumping on board the amnesty bandwagon? The GOP-e is in the pocket of big business who want cheap labour and because they cynically think they can swing a few hispanic votes through appeasement. What’s Paul’s excuse?
They would blindly walk into in their changes.
From about the day I could read, history has fascinated me. I got a set of World Book Encyclopedias for a present when I was in grade school and read them often. Wore out a couple library cards too ;)
My Bieber is forever stuned by how many people simply could care less about history and are shocked when the same things happen time and time again. And each time their shock repeats.
Oh noQOOOO that can’t happen here/again/whatever!
Orly? Why not?
Because TV said so!
Oh...OK.
I’m not sure, it’s been one of the few things that’s been having me scratch my head about.
I can even understand if he towed the full (L) line, AKA: full open borders. But, that usually necessitates 1) removing the anti-A1S8 laws 2) removing the ‘safety net’
Nothing to give = nothing to attract = Constitutional
Most else, he’s done more than 99% of the rest in D.C., and for that I am grateful. This....I don’t know
One that doesn't really have anything to do with any of these subjects.

Once I get some more money, I am going to buy another copy, because I worn out the Book my Garnets gave me when I was a kid.
I used it THAT much.
I took that book everywhere!!!
We need to purge all GOP RINO traitors from the Republican Party!
Don’t they understand that the legalization of over 20 million illegal immigrants means giving the Democommie Party at least 18 million more votes - and, therefore, decades (or forever?) minority status to the Republican Party?
A pity the GOP doesn’t have a way to toss out those members who violate the Party Platform!
Oh...do you’re one of “THOSE” people...
I preferred things with wings. Then again. I was known to nail together some wood scraps and launch them in the creek as well ;)
I’m watching the House Judiciary Committee on C-Span. Hank Johnson is speaking. The man is an idiot!
Has anyone heard Jebbie’s latest speech saying illegal immigration is needed because such persons are “more fertile” than other Americans? Now this should thrill the Republican primary voters of 2016.
If Boehner will not invoke the Hastert Rule and allows that POS Senate bill to reach the House floor, none of the amendments will matter. The traitors on the left side and RINOS will collaborate to pass a POS House bill with all the amendments we want and, as Rush predicts, they will all be stripped out in conference. The Senate and House will pass the resulting legislation and this nation will be lost.
