A farmer in southern Sweden awoke on Sunday to find over 20 of his sheep slaughtered in what is believed to be a wolf attack. Experts have warned farmers in the area to be vigilant as the wolf will likely attack again.

The attack occurred at a farmyard in Hestra, southern Sweden, with 21 of the farmers 25 sheep either killed or so close to death that they needed to be put down.

"It's still shocking, it feels like a nightmare," farm owner Anders Svensson told Sveriges Radio (SR).

The wolf merely offered, “it was a blue Monday” and said nothing more.

Why would wolves kill or injure 25 sheep and not eat them? I don’t believe that. There’s something else to this story.

Someday soon this story will be written about us, the U.S. The wolf is Obama and his thugs, the sheep are the voters who elected him. The U.S. story thou will have a fully armed farmer with plenty of neighbors to boot.

I am going with either a pack of wolves or a farmer that has a gripe.

Disney lied to you. Wolves often kill for fun, and this is actually quite common. Some outdoorsmen near my brother's place in Idaho found dozens of wolf killed elk in a box canyon last spring. Many of the carcases hadn't been eaten from.

Andersson warned that farmers in the area should also inspect their fences to ensure no wolves will be able to get access to their sheep.

Oh, that'll do. Wolves always respect good fences.

This is a mystery, but I wouldn't omit the possibility of insurance fraud.

Wolves eat their prey.

How much life insurance did the farmer have on these sheep.

Although I have no personal experience to report, I have read accounts of predators (usually wolves or dogs) getting into enclosures with smaller domestic stock and going into a kind of killing frenzy. Apparently, the sheer prospect of killing without difficulty or hazard stimulates them to take down animal after animal without regard to what they can actually drag away and eat.

I see....farmers have 8’ fences that can’t be dug under...???

How about INSPECT YOUR RIFLE!?!?!?

Ya think THIS might be a good application of an AR-15?

Oh bullshit. Wolves may continue to kill after their hunger is gone...but it would be hard to establish that it was done for entertainment.

More likely just habit.

That said, most wolves are so never so full of good food that they are able to seek entertainment.

This is birthing season. There are children to feed.

The 20 they got are merely for coats in order to easily get the rest.

Ban Assault Wolves!

I don’t know anyone around here that likes wolves. My uncle did say he hoped they moved down where he is. Never shot a wolf before he says.

It's happened many times, this one in May of this year:

Wolves Kill 31 Sheep On South-Central Idaho Ranch

excerpt:

Idaho Wildlife Services State Director Todd Grimm says the final mortality count for kills on May 10 and May 12 was 13 ewes and 18 lambs.

Peavey says a state Fish and Game representative determined wolves were to blame and Idaho Wildlife Services has a kill order on at least two wolves in the area.
