The case of Jay Anthony Dobyns v. The United States is scheduled to begin Monday by the United States Court of Federal Claims, an entry yesterday on the ATF agents blog announced. The trial will start in Arizona and end in Washington, D.C. in early August, Dobyns wrote.
Dobyns is the agent who gained fame after infiltrating the Hells Angels in a harrowing undercover journey he wrote about in his New York Times bestseller No Angel. He, along with colleague, friend and fellow whistleblower Vince Cefalu, has been the subject of several Gun Rights Examiner reports focused on retaliation they have been subjected to for coming forward with information exposing official wrongdoing.
After his role in the Hells Angels investigation became known, Dobyns and his family received death threats. His house was burned down. The basis of Dobyns claims against the government centers on its lack of appropriate actions followed by acts of retaliation for his then coming forward.
ATF has breached its settlement contract terms ... and has continually failed to approach minimal standards of law enforcement safety practices by failing to properly assess, respond to, investigate, process or document any of these threats and occurrences, the Synopsis of Facts in Dobyns complaint states.
ATF has refused to adequately protect or defend Dobyns and Family from the threats coming from the very criminals and alleged syndicates that ATF encouraged Dobyns to investigate, the complaint continues, and then raises chilling allegations.

Fast and Furious ping.

What is the connection to Fast and Furious? It is eluding me.
Looks like the drip drip drip may turn into a downpour next week!
atf needs to be exposed for the rogue agency it is and for the retaliatory and intimidating tactics used against their own who have exposed the depth of corruption of a now highly politicized organization that began with the clinton admin.
Try reading THAT sentence without taking a breath. Hoo.
Jay Dobyns wasn’t part of fast and furious. He was already out of the ATF. The death threats and retaliations he received was from the Hells Angels. He makes this clear in that book.
I kinda thought this. Funny that F&F is mentioned if he was not involved in it. It stinks like a mountain of dead skunks that this supposed protected witness had been treated so shabbily. As alluring as HA may be to some, it’s kind of like the allure of Mafia. What sane person would want a part of either one?
Jay Dobyns biggest complaint against the ATF was that they did not do an adequate job protecting their agents from retaliatory actions when the case was completed against groups that were being investigated. In his case he received many such threats from the Hells Angels.
His other complaint was that it is hard for an ATF agent to continue their career after a high profile case such as his own. They would in effect become useless as a undercover agent, because of the high probability that they would be recognized by the very criminals they are investigating.
I am with you on this. I never understood why the Hells Angels had a fan club. I not sure why anyone would be a fan of organized crime.
Marketing I guess... both in the physical and demon worlds — a lot of folks apparently have a hankering to live in the image of the bad boy biker. At least they have Harleys — what does the Mafia have, pizzas? (Being rather facetious here.)
As far as I can tell the Hells Angels aren’t that big time as far as organized crime goes. They are mostly involved with low level amounts of drug and gun trafficking. Most of their murders are from rival bike gangs like from the brawl in the Laughlin casino. I highly doubt they will ever have the money or political power to build a highend casino.
One funny story Jay Dobyns discussed was a night when him and his group went to Vegas with his group and the Hells Angel chapter he was trying infiltrate. He always told the Hells Angels that he works for a boss of his own but never introduced him to the Angels. The Angels kept bringing this point up, so to keep up his image Jay had the ATF bring a guy to Vegas to act like his boss. The guy the ATF was going to be just another agent they felt was good for such a role, but something happened and the guy couldn’t come. So the ATF got another guy who Jay at the time thought it was a cookie cutter wiseguy. After the meeting between the cookiecutter wiseguy and the Angels, it was reveal that the guy was actually the head of the New Jersey mafia. ATF had him on some charges at the time, so they asked him to do this. He probably did it because he thought it was simply funny.
Another story for the MSM to ignore.
It sounds more like a society of nod, wink than of any hierarchical plan, still it’s hinky. I believe in a God of truth and can’t see schmoozing with HA, except to preach gospel to them if I can.
