The IRS has notified congressional staff that top officials in the agencys Affordable Care Act implementation team were recently placed on administrative leave for potential improprieties, according to a congressional source.
The agency told lawmakers that Fred Schindler, who is Sarah Hall Ingrams deputy, and another staffer in the division were put on leave. The move is the result of gifts the staffers allegedly received including $1,100 in free food and other items while attending a 2010 health care conference. The IRS didnt immediately comment.
The agency is surrounded in scandal after acknowledging last month that it wrongly targeted tea party groups applying for a tax exemption. The IRS came under additional scrutiny yesterday after an inspector general released a report saying the agency spent about $49 million on conferences between 2010 and 2012.
Acting IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel placed Lois Lerner, a senior official in the division overseeing nonprofits, on leave last month.

I don't think so. I think it's the little Rats that are being thrown under the bus for trumped up charges to distract the public from the BIG RATS.
The little rats attended a HEALTH CARE CONFERENCE, and took FREE STUFF like food ? OMG. What a crime.
They can run but they can't hide. Just like the RATS they are.
Cuttin’ a few loose won’t matter; they recently hired 16,500 more!
YUP! I think the key to exposing the community organized cabal run by the Czars will be getting into those 'undocumented' email accounts. The communications trail should lead to finding the central planning and coordination apparatus. IF one understands ANYTHING about the left -it is in knowing that they just LOVE central planning!!!
This is the IRS trying to get out in front of tomorrow’s hearing on the IRS conference shenanigans. It won’t help them much, but at least they think they will be able to say, “we’re taking this serious, blah, blah, blah . . . .”
It just adds to the perception that government in general, and the IRS in particular is out of control.
Nice touch that this one in Obamacare related!
If you think the IRS is getting graft from people in the health care industry, you just WAIT and see the corruption that goes on with this IPAB board.
Lois Lerner and her misbehaving IRS cronies need to remain on paid leave so they can pay their lawyers to tell them to take the Fifth.
In the meantime, as long as Lois and company are taking money from the taxpayers, couldn’t they at least pitch in a few days a week to lead White House tours?
THE FOREIGNER IS CRACKING DOWN ON THE IRS. Time to move on.
Wow, when it’s the little fish....IRS moves with quick action.
When it’s the higher-ups, ??????????, maybe next year.
Shulman, Wilkins, and Furman are more than little rats. They are not the big cheese himself, but they are pretty high up (or was so in the case of Shulman).
Late last week the House requested the hard drives from Wilkins’ computers as well as those from about 18 other IRS lawyers.
A tour of the closets and attics.
This is crap. Sarah Ingram knows full well that every jot and tittle is going to be exposed, so she calls in her deputy and says, “hey, you know that little tsk-tsk you committed 3 years ago when you accepted that gift? Yeah, well, it’s bound to come out now and I need to get a little clean-looking, so take a powder for a few weeks, ‘Kay?”
Such BS.
Shut this criminal enterprise down! Abolish the IRS! Repeal ObamaCare! Impeach Obama!
Hey, this is like getting “snow days” off school and having no homework assignments due when you return...........also no final exams before graduation either!!!!!

That’s just to make us feel good. It means nothing. That’s like suspending a few kgb agents for a few days. Then they go back to harassing innocent citizens.
The IRS squirting fish! Can you believe this??
