On Tuesday night the American Muslim Advisory Council (AMAC) hosted a meeting in Manchester, Tennessee, on “Public Discourse in a Diverse Society.” The two guest speakers were William Killian, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and Kenneth Moore, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Knoxville Division. The two reportedly attended to “provide input on how civil rights can be violated by those who post inflammatory documents targeted at Muslims on social media.” But whether they accomplished this or anything else is hard to say.

so the fedgov is now threatening us if we post anything inflammatory towards islam??

i say, stop pussy footing around and bring it.

i’d love to hear a judge explain how i have a right to ‘freely’ express myself... so long as i do so with the approval of the fedgov.

And it remains to be seen where Mr. Killian draws the line between protected speech and that which he considers threatening under law.

Probably because this politically correct federal prosecutor is using intimidation tactics to scare citizens who might criticize Islam, intimidation tactics he can't back up with actual US law.

He's unfit for the position he occupies. It's his job to prosecute crimes per US law and precedent, not to run around trying to stifle free speech that offends his PC sensibilities.

Isn’t the government by doing things in this manner basically instituting Islam as a state religion?

Seems to be a native Tennessean, and, like most of Obama’s appointees, a person of very modest accomplishment.

The article came across as “Can’t we have a *peaceful* lecture given by government thugs who wish to take away our civil rights? Why do people have to be *rude* to them?”

Excuse me? If a US Attorney and an FBI agent talk about stripping Americans of their civil rights, they should need to seriously worry about dangling from light poles, or at least scraping off a substantial amount of tar and feathers.

I wouldn't go that far, though that would be the result the believing Moslems in the US would desire.

I think the behavior of government officials is just PC run amuck. They are so obsessed with PC and multicultural nonsense that they've abandoned all reason and historical evidence to pretend that Islam really is just another one of the world's great religions, a religion of peace. And then there is the element of white guilt that makes so many Westerners afraid to criticize any 'other' culture.

They've "taken leave of their senses" and there is no evidence that things will change any time soon.

That link (rare.us) is full of scripts, cross site xss links, and web trackers. I can’t get it to work in Firefox without disabling every safety measure ... not saying its dangerous, just saying that among the 100s of site I visit and that operate fine with my safeties in place, that one is eaten up with suspisiousness.
