A group of about 100 high school students traveling from New York to Atlanta were thrown off a flight, along with their chaperones, after the pilot and crew lost patience with some kids who wouldn't sit down and put away their cellphones.
The teenagers, all seniors at the Yeshiva of Flatbush, in Brooklyn, were ordered off the AirTran flight around 6 a.m. Monday as it sat at a gate at LaGuardia Airport.
AirTran's parent company, Southwest Airlines, said in a statement that flight attendants asked passengers several times to take their seats and put their mobile devices away. The airline said that when some didn't comply, the captain repeated the request. When that didn't work, either, the whole group of students was ordered to disembark for safety reasons, the airline said.
The flight was delayed for about 45 minutes while the students filed out of the Boeing 737, which seats about 137 people, leaving the plane mostly empty.
Rabbi Seth Linfield, executive director at Yeshiva of Flatbush, said that administrators were still looking into the matter Tuesday, but that he believed adults on the trip who said the students weren't behaving that badly.
"Preliminarily, it does not appear that the action taken by the flight crew was justified," he said in a statement.
Asked whether he thought 100 teenagers were too many to keep in order on a flight, Linfield said the school has taken similar-size groups before without any problems.

Since you are one of those people who thinks "northern liberal" is one word, let me give you a little history lesson. In the beginning, it was the South that was liberal. While New England Yankees were setting up a "theocracy" based on "divine law," Southerners were loose-living Anglicans. As a matter of fact, in England it was Cromwell who was the conservative over that proto-Hell Fire Club known as the Cavaliers.
The South supported the French Revolution. The conservative North opposed it. Thomas Jefferson (the hero of "states' rights" anti-federalists) was 100% pro-Jacobin while Hamilton and his followers were horrified at their G-dlessness.
While your beloved Southern aristocrats were having "brandy and cigahs on the veranda" conservative Northerners were fighting liquor and Free Masonry and rationalism and gambling and prostitution and "sabbath"-breaking and atheist foreigners and yes, slavery and polygamy. And yes, widey . . . Catholicism.
While the North was defending states' rights during the Jefferson administration and the War of 1812 the "true Constitutionalist" Southerners were accusing them of "treason." And the same "states' rights" Southerners were busy in the years leading up to the Civil War systematically destroying the freedom of the Free states to prohibit slavery within their borders with the Compromise of 1850 and the Fugitive Slave Law and the Kansas-Nebraska Act and the Dred Scott decision and lynching anyone and destroying any printing press that had the temerity to criticize what was going on. This is your idea of "state sovereignty?" You don't even think a state had the right to prohibit slavery within its borders and you support "states' rights???" Don't make me laugh.
Then after the Civil War when Northern Republicans were promoting moralism and rural values and prayer and Bible reading in the public schools your beloved white Southerners were aligning with corrupt Northern urban Democrat machines. I'm sure the magnolias and cotton stalks all grew a little brighter as a result.
The Confederates were honorable people (and in some issues they were more correct than the North), but they were no conservatives. They were anti-federalists. And anti-federalists are not conservatives.
Neo-Confederates, unlike their honorable ancestors, are much worse. They dishonor their ancestors' memories with things those ancestors never knew or subscribed to: anti-Semitism, pacifism, protectionism (a Northern Federalist position I actually agree with, but not a true Confederate position).
As I said, every Confederate state except South Carolina had a strong Unionist element, especially among the "hillbillies" the liberals hate so much. I agree that recent history has been too one-sided in describing the conflict, but over-correcting is no answer to the problem. That's how "affirmative action" got started.

The yeshiva was identified as Yeshiva of Flatbush, the Joel Braverman building and that is EXACTLY the institution to which I referred. They also had video of the buiding, and there is no mistake. It is a VERY modern Orthodox school populated by mini kippa shruga wearers and girls dressed almost like the ghetto girls in public schools. Thus, these kids are not to be confused with Chassidic or “ultra-Orthodox” folks in any way, shape, or form.

Dude, you are one one the biggest anti Christians on this forum. If you want respect for the Jews you venerate, you have to give respect in return.
