Though not all baby boomers are as you described them.

Speaking as a boomer, two of our few redeeming qualities are: we elected Reagan, and we ended the Cold War.

Perhaps there are other positive attributes that can be added.

Because without hope or a vision the people perish.

As bad as things look for the boomers think how bleak it looks for their children who face a longer uncertain but messed up future.

I just keep thinking that no trial not common to all men will fall upon us. Nothing that will be is any worse than what has already been one time or another.

I still can not resolve the circle of lies and intentional and unnecessary destruction. I feel like the Hal 9000 computer stuck in an illogical loop that can’t be resolved.

The alinsky rules to overwhelm the system are working out just fine.

You have 40 million Americans out of work who should be supporting their families with income. Another group perhaps as large is now under-employed making far less than they used to. They are qualified to do more. Their jobs have been moved off shore.

These people suffer depression. They suffer feelings of inadequacy, futility, abject failure...

I’m sure some study will be launched to find out the real causes of this increase in suicide. Heaven forbid we look at the answer right in front of our noses.

Our society has basically written men off. Women don’t need them. Society doesn’t need them.

It’s easier to get a divorce today than it is to apply for a credit card. The stigma of a man leaving his wife remains. The stigma of a poor wife having to make a ‘tough decision’ because she’s unhappy is heralded, championed, considered to be evidence of real character.

And so it goes folks...

America..., what a country.

No, you reap what you sow. Boomers got fat on the hog and left us to starve.

Because we look at ourselves, our lives, our nation, and everyone’s future -- and the decision to do so appears increasingly rational.

Plus lack of good values such as faith in God, right and wrong, etc.

The number one fear of the liberals is that there will be too many people in this world. They work hard in three areas to keep the population down. The first area is the glorification of homosexuality. Homosexuals don’t reproduce and this helps keep the population numbers down. The second area is abortion. This reduces the number of new people on the planet. The third area is euthanasia/suicide. This reduces the present population. Now, if you really want to get disgusted, think about why they want fewer people on the planet. I have seen the devastation caused by homosexuality, abortion and suicide. It’s absolutely horrible. And the Democrats goad it on so that they can have a better life. Democrats try to come across as being so empathetic, and they are the most self-centered, self-serving son-of-a-bit**es in the world.

Boomers also...
- Moved all our manufacturing overseas. Companies their parents helped build.
- Ran our country into a debt we can never repay.
- Made social security into the biggest ponzi scheme ever.
- You coined the term "latchkey kid" because you picked money and recreation over family.

The guy sounds like loser.

He is concerned about the gap between rich and poor...and that people don’t help each other.

The gap between rich and poor only matters if you are keeping score. In my mid forties, I came to the conclusion (late) that type of worry was counter productive and not relavent.

If he is worried about people not helping each other, I would ask...who has he helped? That door swings both ways.

Just the opposite, I spent most of mine keeping my kids out of public school and medical bills for a tbi child because I won’t accept state help/interference.

Far better to raise your kids so they are constantly contacting you out of need?

I do believe Boomers have actually raised kids who stay much closer to their (often helicopter) parents than was the norm in the generations before them.

“Your knowledge and experience is devalued and every special interest group with a quota demand wants you out. The politically correct rules require you to walk on eggshells, choose your words carefully and be sensitive to everyone around you but anyone can ridicule and attack you with impunity. You are typically ordered to clean up the messes made by young, politically correct careerists who are given authority without responsibility, screw things up and then move on to something else.”

Well, I think there’s some truth to that.

I will tell you though, that no matter how good your values, or how strong you think your faith in God is, when you’ve lost your job, your spouse leaves, you are dependent on her for income, and your self-respect has vanished along with everything else, all the preaching in the world from any source will be extremely iffy at saving you.

If you happen to be 60+, there’s an x-factor to be considered on top of everything else too.

You take a look at those numbers. Men aren’t doing this for no reason at all.
