Media editors say U.S. attorney general to change investigations

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder told media editors on Thursday that he would change the way the Justice Department handles investigations that involve reporters and not repeat searches that have raised concerns about freedom of the press, the editors said.

After a meeting that other media outlets boycotted because of its secrecy, the editors who did attend said they were encouraged by officials' expressions of regret, though one said the Justice Department still has a long way to go to understand how journalists work.

"There was a commitment to change the department's guidelines for handling cases such as these and a renewed commitment to support a federal shield law for journalists," said Gerald Seib, Washington bureau chief of The Wall Street Journal.

Despite the meeting's status as "off the record," meaning its contents could not be recorded or reported, three of the five journalists who attended spoke afterward to reporters outside the Justice Department's headquarters.

I’ll believe when I see it, not before. I probably wouldn’t believe it then because Holder is so untrustworthy.

To late. Can I skip paying my taxes and then say "Don't worry about it, I'll pay some taxes next year."

He broke the law, he doesn't get to promise not to do it again and then walk. I couldn't do that if I broke a law.

holder is so shady that he will never find redemption no matter what little detail he commits to. He's a career criminal, a serial offender, and needs to be put away.

Anyone wanting on or off this ping list, please advise. Thanks.

which I will not actually announce to the public, but instead invite submissive members of the press who can be counted to lick my a-wesomene-ss to a meeting after which said submissive members of the press are free to inform the alleged victims how I allegedly may or may not choose to conduct myself in the future.

"There was a commitment to change the department's guidelines for handling cases such as these..."

Stupid reporters. There was a commitment to talk about change blah-blah-blah, yadda-yadda-yadda....

No more will ever be said about this and if a reporter dare ask about it sometime in the future, they will be told that they are still working on new guidelines and they can't say more about it as it would disrupt the process blah-blah-blah, yadda-yadda-yadda...

Holder offers to strengthen rules to make it more difficult for him to break the rules next time around.

No reason for him to think the press won’t buy into it - they have been buying into his and Obama’s most outrageous lies and doubletalk for almost 5 years now.

Oh they understand just FINE “how journalists work.” They’re being evil and the paparazzi are licking the evil off their evil boots and loving it (most of the time).
