That confirms something I suspected. The Boy Scouts made themselves vulnerable by accepting the huge monetary donations from corporations. They COULD have survived without this but the money is always too tempting for organizations like this. I would guess that scouting in the beginning up through the 1970s was probably much simpler and more streamlined, and they lived without the huge corporate donations. Another reason to get rid of corporate tax exempt donations but installing the Fair Tax or Flat tax, takes away the incentive for corporations to donate to anything unless it is truly altruistic.

So their executive board set the agenda for pro-homo rulings, but it still was voted on by representatives from all the regional councils.

That part I am really shocked at: Of all the National council - did they ALL get to vote at the meeeting in Irving? Or was only a portion of the regional representatives actually there and able to vote? Just wondering if the executive council votes really outweighed the “regular” people from the regional areas?

What are some good alternatives to the Boy Scouts?

“,,I encourage everyone to write similar letters and completly inundate the BSA with these “notifications.”

Great idea!

Also, I wonder if many of the openly gay scouts were gay ACTIVISTS considering the boy scouts had this policy:

“In general, the Scouts’ policy has been to avoid any questioning of would-be Scouts as to their sexual orientation, but to dismiss boys who did speak openly about being gay.”

The snot is coating the slippery slope.. the ride is going to be fast and awful... with a latrine at the bottom..

America electing a Marxist President has its costs..
Could be America itself is as corrupt as him...
Otherwise they(WE) would have revolted by now..

Not all are homos BUT all seem to be corrupt.. in other ways..
Birds of a feather fly together as they say..

As a sidebar issue amazing republicans themselves REJECTED ALL conservative candidates in 2012..
Its not just the democrats that are corrupt..

America is being PUNISHED by Obama and a pantheon of his cronys..
to wit; RIGHTFULLY SO... what is happening SHOULD HAPPEN..
We ARE represented by people just like US!...
Which “IS” the problem.. America is corrupt.

Good letter.

The BSA just killed itself, and that is a pity.

heard today, this morning this on CNN.

“The DOMA case will go to court and is expected to win for anti discrimination and [insert name]. The gay woman lost her wife and had to pay more taxes than a heterosexual couple”

OK gay woman, wife, more taxes and heterosexual are the key words in just those short words.

How can she have a wife?
How can she be married if she had to pay more tax?
The law was passed saying she was married but then back then it was not therefore she did not have a wife .

I;ts insanity and either CNN have gone completely nutty in the heads or they seriously have some issues about how to pass an agenda.
Problem is that many people are sheep in the country, they follow, sit there and never question

141 I would guess that scouting in the beginning up through the 1970s was probably much simpler and more streamlined, and they lived without the huge corporate donations. ...

Historically, BSA has always struggled to make payroll. BSA's membership peaked in 1973. It's been declining ever since. During the 1990s it made the administrative decision to consolidate/merge local councils to decrease headcount and sell-off surplus under utilized properties. I believe I read somewhere that the actual BSA employment is around 3,000 - and that is across the nation in all of the local councils plus the National office in Irving.

... did they ALL get to vote at the meeeting in Irving? Or was only a portion of the regional representatives actually there and able to vote? Just wondering if the executive council votes really outweighed the “regular” people from the regional areas?

That information has not come out yet. It may not ever. Can't even estimate what % of the ~1,400 delegates showed up to cast their vote. The main point is that the delegates from the local councils were way in the majority over the National Executive Board members. The National Executive Committee worked very hard to lobby these delegates to vote FOR the resolution.

Amen skeeter!

“Wouldn’t it have been better if the Boy Scouts had made it their policy to refuse to admit any scout who openly proclaimed any sexual preference, be it hetero or homo?”

In my mind that is the bottom line, the only comparison to be made, the only logic that applies. The BSA isn’t about sex, but proclamation of sexuality and coming out as an avowed homosexual, is about sex, and nothing more.

If hetero’s were at all like homosexuals, they would be crying from the house tops their sexual proclivities, instead of adhereing to a standard that says, your sexual side is kept under wraps conforming to a moral code and behavior based on character traits instead of sexual leanings.

I have suggested for years that the homosexuals should learn that anything other than keeping “IT” in the closet is too much information. No one cares, just shut up about it, but nooooo, they cannot do it.

This is what I wrote to the BSA regarding the Church's position. I also forwarded a copy of the letter to my Stake President and my Bishop, both of whom are men of character and integrity I have known for many years.

"My church, the LDS Church, will continue with the scout program within its own congregations until and unless Scouting accepts adult leaders who are homosexual. That is where the LDS Church has drawn its own line. The Church teaches that homosexuals can be members of the church as long as they are celebate in these desires. In other words, they can have urges, but if they resist temptation and rely on the atonementof Christ, then they can be members in good standing just as much as a heterosexual who resists temptation to commit fornication or adultery.

"While I can understand this, and agree with it spiritually when it comes to young people who are serious about trying to overcome this deviant lifestyle...I cannot support it in scouting where the admission policy will allow "openly," gay scouts into the organization who have no intention of changing. This "open" admission policy will unavoidably and legally conflict with the church's desire to help influence young men away from this life style. There will be no avoiding it...and the homosexual community knows it and intends to exploit it. For this reason, and the reasons I just enumerated above, I personally cannot support the Boy Scouts of America any longer...as long as such a policy exists."

Agree with your response to the one claiming.

“what skeeter wants is to outlaw even normal behavior”.

Really?

Don’t think the one claiming such is going to be able to prove his point.

This dawned on me. They werepressured like the others we’re seeing this same week. It is demoralizing to our nation while we are supposed to hate each other

Such kids, at least in our church, were never "thrown out." The key is what are the kids motivations and desires.

If an individual was sincerely trying to understand themselves, or to come away from such a life style, Scouting has always been an avenue to help there.

Not perfect. Because you have all sorts of instances where it simply does not work out. but that motivation and root desire is a good thing.

This new policy has nothing to do with that. Now, "openly" gay youth, who have no desire, and where there is no expectation to change will be a part of the group. They will be held up as moral examples to younger youth.

Scouting has never been about so-called "sexual orientation" at all. It has been about treaching a young man to be honest, to be "morally straight," and to honor God and country, while learning a lot about the outdoors and countless other interests and doing so in a manner that teaches them to work, to make progress towards relizable and worthwhile goals.

Scouting is being hijacked by people who want it to be about sexual orientation and liberal progressiveness...and they just gave in to a huge part of that. Which is why I cannot, and will not, support them any longer.

Manc, it just seems to be getting worse by the hour.

Turning this around is going to be very iffy.

There’s a list out there of the steps from oppression to freedom and back into oppression. We’re just about done with the freedom cycle by the markers included in that list.

Very sad.

Here this is a rough outline along the lines of what I mentioned.

Some of the lists mention societal deviancy just prior to bondage again.

From bondage to spiritual faith,
From spiritual faith to great courage,
From courage to liberty,
From liberty to abundance,
From abundance to selfishness,
From selfishness to complacency,
From complacency to apathy,
From apathy to dependency,
From dependency back again to bondage.

A big bump to you Jeff.

It looks like the scouts have gone under; I don’t know what’s left. Here in Kalifornia they now teach primary grade kids that homo is natural, and should be embraced and affirmed. All primary reading material is now homo-related.

Ultimately, a reckoning will come. Either the tens of millions of Americans who hold fast to our traditional values and fundamental moral principle will stand and throw off the perversion of our way of life and violation of our constitution...or God in Heaven will act, as He has in ages past.

However it comes about, such perversion and emnity against nature's God will utlimately reap the consequences it establishes for itself.

Here in SW Idaho, we continue to teach our kids argiht, and our grnadkids, despite the efforts of the prgressive left and all of their adherants and errand boys. On one hand we have these socio-marxists, destorying us from within. On the other hand we have absolutely tyrancial, sadistic, animals who want to impose Sharia LAw on the world. But God is still in His Heaven, and He is still mindful of the affairs of man. His purposes shall be fulfilled, and ultimately the truth will shine. And there is nothing in the world or out of it these enemies can do about it.

God's speed my friend, and His blessings on you and yours.

Isaiah 40: 28-31.
