Of the present 2.6 millions scouts, I hope the number will drop to around a dozen or so . . . and crickets.

They know I don’t agree with it because I got a massive questionnaire from them...asking me how I felt about “What IF” situations in the scouts regarding homosexuality.
I said “NO” to permitting outspoken homosexuals to join, continue, or remain in the organization. The entire questionnaire was designed to find some excuse to celebrate the behavior and outspokeness of homosexuals.
I am one who believes we are to “love the sinner, hate the sin” person....this is NOT what the Boy Scouts were advocating. They were advocating NORMALIZING and CELEBRATING the behavior...
So that is how Craig Shelley knows I don’t agree.
I wonder what email they sent to the small number of parents and other financial supporters who said they AGREED with homosexuals in the ranks.
How can one require the Scouts to abide by the Scout Oath (be morally straight) and duty to God (who regards homosexuality as an abomination) yet claim that gender identity is irrelevant? The scout mis-leaders are trying to have it both ways, yet they are mutually incompatible and force the Scouts to live a lie. That is certain destruction for the Scouts.

Two questions: Does this only adress members? At what age does a boy “know” he’s gay?
Bigger question - does this in any way address scoutmaters? That is the real problem. Where does this stand?

I heard an interesting interview on a local radio show today with a lawyer who has had some dealings with the Boy Scouts in the past. His take on this situation is that the Boy Scouts have made this change not for political reasons, but under pressure from major corporate donors.

I personally will not be giving another dime to the BSA. I will also recommend that my children not to enroll any of our grandosn into the oorganization...as much as it pains me, and as much as I regret the loss of this once great organization.
The homosexual community is now going to recruit 16-17 year old boys to become open members of the scouting organization. I do not want my 12-14 year old grandsons going on campouts with them. Plain and simple. Not worth the risk.
My church, the LDS Church, will continue with the scout program within its own congregations until and unless they accept adult leaders who are homosexual. That is what the Church has indicated is its line. The Church teaches that homosexuals can be members of the church as long as they are celebate in these desires. IOW, they can have urges, but if they resist temptation and rely on the atonement of Christ, then they can be members in good standing as much as a heterosexual who does not commit fornication or adultery.
While I can understand this, and agree with it when it comes to young people who are serious about trying to overcome their lifestyle and affliction in a spiritual sense, and it is an affliction that tempts them to sinful behavior...I cannot support it within the scouts. I know that there will be people now entering the organization specifically to fill its ranks with these queers who have no intention of “repenting,” or overcoming their lifestyle.
I cannot and will not risk that set of circumstances on my own grandkids of I can help it.

A sad business. We went to the ceremony honoring one of my grandsons who became an Eagle Scout last year, and we were hoping that his younger brother would soon earn the same award.
Now, I don’t know what to think.
But I agree. I certainly would not reply favorably to that letter. And I doubt whether I will donate anything more to them.
I gave up on the Girl Scouts some time ago, and now it looks as if the Boy Scouts are following them down the drain. A great pity. A great tradition has been destroyed.
