The gilded lifestyle of MEPs has been compared to the uncontrolled excesses of ancient Rome after research showed their perks have not been dented despite biting austerity measures.
From Italian MEPs who enjoy free haircuts to Maltese ones who get 52 free gallons of petrol a month, the perksand expensescontinue unabated for the representatives of European Union nations.
MEPs from the 27 EU nations are paid salaries of £137 million ($207 million) a year, according to research by German pricing watchdog Preisvergleich.de, and some earn 740 percent more than the average citizen.

What is even worse is that they have not achieved Romes height yet. Do we want them to?

Maybe it is time to storm the Bastille ...or the Hague...or the EP.

Quite an expensive club for a “parliament” that doesn’t have the power to write a single law.

This is what the coming global government will be like.
The Lear Jet Leftists will live and rule in luxury — while the bulk of the world’s population will be their vassals.

Well they are such important people. Why shouldn’t they be justly compensated! It tkes a lot of work subjugating the rights of all the EU citizens!

Indeed, and these guys are just the rubber stamp, not doing all the “real” work that the Commission does towards that goal.

The commissars always live better than the proles.
It’s the same BS hypocrisy in the US.
It’s the same BS hypocrisy everywhere.

All Europe needs is one night of the long knives, and this would no longer be a problem.
Thanks Olog-hai.

I don't really think that political murders are a way to go in Europe ;)
It wouldn't solve our problems but rather cause more turmoil. There are more pressing problems we need to solve in the good 'ld Europe.
When it comes to EP, it's too bad that people there, once they get their EP IDs, they seem to forget that they should care about their countries and about the nations that have elevated the to their position.
