The Army psychiatrist charged in the deadly 2009 Fort Hood attack wants to represent himself at his upcoming murder trial, which means he could question the nearly three dozen soldiers hes accused of wounding in the shooting rampage.
Maj. Nidal Hasans request, announced Wednesday by Fort Hood officials, is to be considered at a pretrial hearing next week. The request prompted the military judge, Col. Tara Osborn, to delay jury selection to June 5, about a week after it was scheduled to start.
Hasan, an American-born Muslim, faces the death penalty or life in prison without parole if convicted of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the Nov. 5, 2009, attack on the Texas Army post, about 125 miles southwest of Fort Worth.

As all muslims, he wants to murder and then proselytize.
Take him out back and chop his head off.
exterminate this POS and get it over with
Well, I say let him speak.
He certainly won’t be going on about the hazards of the workplace.
He’ll clearly let everyone know what he is - doing the job the obama gang refused to do.
Then, when he’s convicted, he’ll appeal on the grounds of inadequate representation. What a *BLEEP*ing dog-and-pony show.
Judges, prosecutors, and opposing counsel love pro se defendants but I’d suspect 0 will make sure he has proper representation.
Wrong. Have you ever sat thru a trial, or even a hearing with a pro per (pro se) defendant? It is so PAINFUL! The judge feels like he has to explain everything to the D, so it all takes twice as long, and in the end, usually a court-appointed attny has to clean up the mess. I love when the D appeals, and reps himself. I don’t care what happens at those trials, I don’t have to work them!
I was being sarcastic. Only a fool represents himself in court.
What possible justification is there for a three and one half year time lapse between crime and trial?
He’s GUILTY. Why the heck is it taking so long?
What’s with our military?????
The only thing I care about...will he, or will he not have a beard?
LOOK! A bird flew by!
It’s time they stopped playing games with this killer.
It’s been a game the whole time.
They should have left the trash lying where he fell to bleed out, but we have spent a fortune saving this clown, and we are still playing.
Represent your fagot islamic bunghole against that post while I get my rifle and a rag for your blindfold.
LLS
Since he’s not a terrorist....just a work-place situation....and the military won’t qualify him as a nut, I think the military judge may be forced to accept a situation where a military attorney is assigned to provide advice, and just watch the event go in this weird direction.
In thirty-odd years associated, I can only recall one occasion where a military individual chose to represent himself (with legal advisers sitting at the table). Unless the military really screwed up....it’s not advisable.
The problem in this case is that it’s a predetermined result. You can’t go any other direction, but declare him guilty.
Lets try and hang this SOB already.Justice delyed is Justice denied.
The government needs to stop stonewalling on this case even if this perp is Obama’s pal.
Bingo!
Justification?

The Jihadist Muzzie Vermin will not die on his watch.
I continue to maintain Hasan will never be tried. Too many unseen allies in his chain of command who don’t want to go down with him. Complicity or accessory to a crime is serious business.
Not to mention the avalanche of civil suits sure to follow his conviction.
Aimed at all those senior officers who saw Hasan’s numerous jihadi manifestations including his “death-to-infidels” PowerPoint presentation to an audience one hundred strong, and not one of them said even, “WTF!!?”
“Too many unseen allies in his chain of command who dont want to go down with him.”
Had not thought about that, but it makes sense.
Of course, Obozo does not want to be the one to be blamed from killing a fellow Muzzie. Hassan was in Obozo’s transition team.
