Broke into the wrong house, huh?
Didn’t realize the story was in Texas, reported in the NY Daily News. Much different outcome if it happened in NY.

reminds me of the times some thug would beat up David Banner, and would then naively throw him into some closet or something.

Texas has the Castle Doctrine. The homeowner (victim) got beatend up by the three armed men, yet the article said “The burglary victim struggles with his emotions after he shot a home invasion suspect ...”.

If it were me, I won’t be, because after the perps get out of jail (hopefully for a long time), next time they will not simply lock the homeowner(s) up in a closet.

If there are guns in the “cupboard”, just think what this guy had in the Safe!
Are there mortars in the medicine cabinet?
Bazookas in the pantry?

Inquiring minds want to know!

That is probably injected by the press to try and show how using guns make people feel bad. I doubt he feels bad, I know I wouldn’t.

Well, having to shoot a guy, and possibly kill him, is a serious thing, even if you are legally in the right.

“The burglary victim struggles with his emotions after he shot a home invasion suspect ...”.

The way I read that is the homeowner is trying to keep his grin from being too big and to stop high-fiving everyone that stops by. (I didn't read the article. . .why bother, it is too much fun to comment anyway).

Sounds like the article was written by some liberal weak “reporter” that assumes that everyone that shoots someone, under any conditions, will be struggling with angst and such. And if the homeowner did tell the reporter he was struggling, it was to appear like he had a heart and was "forced" into shooting them. . .lest the newspaper and ACLU go after him for the shooting.

******************************************************************
He’s not “struggling with his emotions”...he’s simply a little pissed at himself for shooting the perp in the leg and the neck. He’s thinking...”damn, that was supposed to be a double tap TO THE CHEST, not the leg and neck”.

Enter at your own risk big time.

After Hurricane Ike, the news punks asked Governer Perry about looting in Galveston County. The head of the DPS spoke up and stated that there was no looting in that country.

Galveston county has the highest per capita persons with conceal/carry licences in the state.

But once the act is/was committed, I will not react in the same way. ===> Leave no regrets.

What would Bloomberg say?

And we have this strange event from last night in Houston:

Driver with gunshot wound crashes into home

Police said the man was driving along Pease when he apparently lost control of his truck and smashed into the side of a home.

When officers arrived they discovered the man had been shot in the head. He was rushed to a nearby hospital. His condition was not released.

The resident in the home was not hurt.

Police said investigators have no motive or suspects in the case at this time.

End snip

“Enter at your own risk.”

The downstairs of my townhouse is small. On the table by my chair is a loaded Ruger 38 special. I take three steps and my hand is on my loaded Ruger rifle. It's surely is a case of “Enter at your own risk.” Being in Texas, I would get a medal if I killed an intruder. Someone who breaks in your house will kill you unless you kill him first. Be first.

Exactly. The dead home invaders are the ones that don't come back to try to get even in your house or in the courtroom.
