With Dubai emerging as a major stopover point for long haul journeys, five hundred flights a month will deliver over one million of us to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the next year.
Dubai is being promoted as a luxury high-class paradise in the desert, but the reality is brutally different, as Australian Alicia Gali discovered. Gali took a job in the UAE with one of the worlds biggest hotel chains, Starwood. What happened next makes this story a must-watch for every Australian planning on travelling through the region.
Gali was using her laptop in the hotels staff bar when her drink was spiked. She awoke to a nightmare beyond belief: she had been savagely raped by three of her colleagues. Alone and frightened, she took herself to hospital. What Alicia didnt know is that under the UAEs strict sharia laws, if the perpetrator does not confess, a rape cannot be convicted without four adult Muslim male witnesses. She was charged with having illicit sex outside marriage, and thrown in a filthy jail cell for eight months.

I have met several British people who have raved and raved about the delights of Dubai. I wouldn’t bring my hard earned money to any woman-hating middle eastern city or country. Fie on them all.
The fact that the countries of the world do not agree to destroy one mosque for each non muslim killed is a crime against humanity.
But any woman or man for that matter willingly going to MusLand is insane.
Buyer beware.
Edit...This includes jailed/kidnapped/raped non muslims as well. Anger got the better of a coherent post.
Amen. The ignorance of people knows no bounds. May this woman heal completely, and may God bring judgement down on these barbaric mudslime countries.
Naivete and stupidity are killing the West. We have got to wake up.
When I was in the military we went to Muscat, Oman for a few days... the CO of my ship gave us all a very honest assessment of Arab culture and let me tell you, we went about in groups of 4-5, dressed like the 1890s, men and women alike... stuck together like grapes, and were in by dusk.
I wouldn’t go there if you paid me. Meanwhile, the moral of this story is if you are foolish enough to go there, don’t drink anything you didn’t personally make. Babysit your drink and if you do end up raped by the bozos, run for the hills! Leave and never come back.
In Obama’s military, he’d probably get his command yanked immediately and shipped off to Alaska for doing that.
Glad you made it out of that hellhole ok, lol. Fleet Week in NYC is sooooooooo much better - although it was cancelled this year.
The Muzzies call the USA decadent, but look at the excess they drape their gold-plated kingdom in.
I saw, in Dubai [online] a Ferrari Mondial parked for years and left to rot, so go figure.
Point me to a more 'decadent' society, if you please. Sheesh! Ow, my head...
Profound ignorance and bad judgment on the victim's part. Yes, I know that a woman should never have to worry about how she behaves, dresses or acts or where she chooses to travel. That is indisputable.
The problem is that the rest of the "unPC" world couldn't care less about what is our notion of what should be.
I am not a woman, and have no interest or need to know the inherent dangers of traveling in muslim countries. ANY muslim countries, but primarily North Africa, the Middle East and Asia. I would NEVER visit or even accept a layover there.
Insisting on "being right" and ignoring reality often makes the victim "dead right," or condemned to a life of profound regret.
I won't even comment on the decision of a brunette recreating herself as a blonde to be more marketable (in lieu of ability or business education and competence) in those despicable countries.
I would consider that a self-correcting problem. Don't these people have normal adult family members?
Alaska gets such a bad rap.
I enjoyed it there quite a bit.
Scumbag animals ...
muslims are folking depraved
Nice
Actually, I'm OK with that.
“But any woman or man for that matter willingly going to MusLand is insane.”
Agreed, you have to be out of your mind to voluntarily go to any of these countries.
