New York City may soon allow non-citizens, including illegal immigrants who would be granted amnesty if the Senate's immigration reform bill passes Congress, to vote in elections.
According to Talking Points Memo, the New York City Council is currently considering a proposal that would allow non-citizens to vote in local elections. Even though Mayor Michael Bloomberg reportedly opposes the proposal, TPM reports that the New York City Council appears to have a veto-proof majority so it could make the proposal law without Bloombergs support.
Queens College professor Ron Hayduk, a supporter of the proposal who helped craft it, told TPM that this proposal is likely to influence the national immigration debate, too, as pro-amnesty factions are likely to support it.
It would send a big message to the rest of the country and embolden campaigns which are ongoing in other places like San Francisco, and Portland, Maine, and Washington, D.C., and other places, Hayduk said. It would certainly be viewed favorably by immigrants rights advocates and be seen by other policy makers as another level of discussion about the whole business of the role of immigrants in the United States.
If the Senate immigration bill passes Congress and the New York City Council passes its proposal, illegal immigrants in the city would likely be allowed to vote because the immigration reform bill makes illegal immigrants legal almost immediately upon passage.
Protecting American citizens votes is a major concern of many in this debate. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) made secure the vote one of his top three priorities in any immigration package.

Hey ny... I hate your ****ing guts. (Not the handful of good people there).

57% of ALL American Catholics (and any illegals that were able to vote) voted for obama in 2012. The blaze has it archived and you can find it with Bing.

Let the screwballs vote, and let’s go our separate ways. Cut NYC loose. Subtraction. It’s the right thing to do.
The Dems have reliably “Catholic” states of the northeast, west coast, and upper midwest for decades.
As a Catholic I am ashamed of it; Rome needs to replace those leaders who can’t get the point across to their flocks that they are abetting the murder of children with their votes.
Just look at the 2008 and 2012 elections, they have already committed voter fraud they just want to make it law now
NYC is a lost cause anyway! My Lady asked me a few times if I would like to Ride the train up and vist that hell hole!
Not a chance but if you wanna go trout fishin in a Great fishing spot I’m on!
Exit polls had it at 50% Obama and 48% Romney among self-identified Catholic voters.
Jewish voters were 69% Obama and 30% Romney while Protestants were 42% Obama and 57% Romney.

Does Rubio know about this?
(he probably does, although his BILLIONS of amnesty promotional radio commercials say otherwise—just proves he’s learned to lie to Americans like the rest of them.)

Funny coming from the creep who violated law to get a third nomination. Voting rights, my foot.
As someone who voted in NYC for about 27 years, I can tell you they don’t need to throw out any ballots. When you vote at your local high school, the floor is littered with discarded ballots - lost by the old biddies who have no control or interest in voting rights. When they lost my registration form one year, I had to fill out an absentee form. I can still remember the bored woman tossing it to the side (to join all the other litter).
There is a sickness loose in America!
Why would this surprise anyone? As De Toqueville predicted, this Republic can(and will)be brought down by The People voting themselves “Government Largesse”!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was disgusted by a recent visit to a local high school, which had 3 posters on the wall opposite the elevator, no doubt the work of the Hispanic principal. One was a poster with a picture of Che Guevara with some quote of his, one was a poster telling the reader that "Columbus did not discover America--he INVADED America" and the third was some mushy homily about "we all share the earth together, blah, blah, blah."
I was disgusted to read the latest edition of the teachers' newspaper, telling us to vote for the endorsed candidates--every one of them had a "D" by their name. Thanks, UFT. You have provided me a valuable voting guide. All I have to do is vote for whoever's running against your endorsees.
Where you have a certifiable maniac for a mayor who is proud of NYC's status as a sanctuary city, is it any surprise that the City council could come up with allowing illegal criminals who have no respect for our laws to vote for politicians who make those laws? How sick is this?

Not the Big Apple anymore - Manzanas Grandes
I vote in a small NJ town now and the orderly and concerned women and men who volunteer make an astounding change of pace!
One of the things that non-New York City freepers don’t understand is how trapped you can get in these Democratic ghettos. My husband and I care for my elderly mother who simply can’t leave the Northeast. So, we stay, vote for the most conservative candidates (or sit the elections out) and wait for the day of the Great Escape.
cnn... really? Sorry... no cnn in this household ever.

They don’t conduct the exit polls, they report on them, just like every other network..
