I grew up in a city that had a significant Mafia presence. But they mostly kept it between themselves. When the Mafia had a presence in NYC, crime was significantly less than when the crackdown occurred and the other gangs from other cultures moved in and started including the surrounding citizenry in their disputes.
I'm not suggesting that the Mafia is necessarily benign, but oddly, they did provide a certain pacifying street presence.

Now if we could just get the Mafia to go to war with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Sicily vs. the Obama White House? Could be interesting.

It’s just business. they never execute for personal reasons.

I always wondered if the US government gave the Italian/Sicilian Mafia the rights to the US drug trade and the US government would turn a blind eye.....could they wipe out the islamic drug trade as well as the Mexican cartels.
For them its just business, not personal.

The Mexicans kill everyone, the Sicilian/Italian Mafia does not kill for the personal only business.

Now if we could just get the Mafia to go to war with the Muslim Brotherhood. Make 'em an offer that they cannot refuse.

Still not as criminal as Obama.

How can you tell if a person was killed by the Canadian Mafia?
When they pull a body out of lake Ontario....arms tied up by a hockey stick and feet weighed down by a pair of curling stones.

If Ubama and the rats decide to run Moochelle against Hillary for the rat nomination in 2016, we could have a mob war between the Chicago mafia and the Dixie mafia. Stock up on popcorn.

Its just business. they never execute for personal reasons.I'm a little skeptical. The Godfather trilogy was fiction that airbrushed the sociopathic personalities of mob figures. The real-life characters in Goodfellas are a lot closer to what the average mobster is like. John Gotti had his neighbor killed for accidentally running over his son.

That was father killing the guy who killed his son, nothing to do with the family business.

Looks like natural causes to me. For the mafia, anyway.

No not really, I was strictly speaking within the Family.
The killing had nothing to do with the Family.

That's because their 4-1/2' tall grandmothers would kick their asses.
